Tired or just bone idle

Less than one minute read time.
They told me that one of the side affects of Radium would be lethergy, so ok the odd day on the sofa I thought, but its been weeks now, and unless I have something specific to do or some where specific to go, such as out for lunch on xmas day, I find my self lounging about all day, with just the mundane tasks of making the tea in time for my hubby getting home from work feeling like too much bother.Ok there are day's when I really am just too tired to do anything, but I'm slowly coming to the realization that motivation seems to be key, think I need someone to give me a kick up the backside, anyone out there fancy the job.

I am in the same boat, although I finished radiotherapy almost 12months ago and chemo 6 months ago but I still feel exhausted. I have to admit that I do work 40hrs per week and have stopped doing any overtime. When I went for my checkup with my Oncologist I told him of my tiredness so he has arranged for a scan which I will be having next Tuesday. My weekends consist of me just sitting around doing only the bare minimum. I do have adult children that I rely on to do most of the housework, as one has just finished high school and starts work when the students return in late Feb early March and my daughter works evenings, so they are here during the day to do washing etc, so in that respect I am lucky although I do feel guilty for sitting around for 2 days. I am like you guys not sure whether it is just that I need a kick up the rear end or that I am genuinely tired.

Take care and don't worry if you need that nana nap.......lol

Thanks for all the great advise and comment - it was just what I needed and its what I've tried to do since my diagnosis - its just seems to have been harder over the Christmas break.  But I did my up and at em - I took the dog to the forest, cleared up the garden then rested.  Have decided that at a minimum I must walk the dog everyday and get dressed; but I also have a list of things to do... including the ironing which I can't ignore any longer and making some curtains for the spare room.

Am back at work next week and hoping my batteries keep going as I have started to fade after 4 hours at work, dificult when you are supposed to be at work for 7.5 hours!!  Hoping to keep working even though most people say, why bother - dreading going on sick leave, I think its good for me and it makes me get out of bed.

Thanks for the support and Happy New Year.

    Carol xx

PS I am now suffering for having that sleep today, its 1am and I'm on the net, cos I'm not tired.  Won't be doing that again!  Take Care all.
