the beginning

Less than one minute read time.

im new to this but weirly find this quite helpful just randomly typing not knowing whether anyone will read or not.

I was diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma on new years eve 2010. (i know happy new year). Luckily this tumor was removed within a week of being diagnosed by a wonderful Dr in Manchester. The tumor was in the top part of my leg so not just removed but also had my hamstring reconstructed.

I am now about to embark on radiotherapy treatment at th Christie hospital.

I think i have stayed very positive throughout, but my new Dr is all about statistices and i know they have to tell you the good and the bad but id rather have better odds lets just say.

Apparently my form of cancer is quite rare and the many sites i have joined i am yet to find anyone with the same condition.

I will continue to look Good luck me on my treatment.

Welcome to the Site, sorry you have the need to join though - also sorry I can't help with your specific cancer - but did want to congratulate you with staying so positive and also in finally finding the best site on the net !!

You have joined a group of people affected by cancer - maybe the best point is we are a mixture of patients, carers, ex-carers, friends and patients in remissiion - so a pretty mixed bunch in experience nad knowledge. The important point is some of us have been were you are - some of us may still be there now - but what we do is offer help advice care and love to all the Members of the Mac Family  Welcome and maybe a reassurance a lot of people do care and will listen to anything you post and respond with help

    Hugs

    Thank-you

just good to know that there are people out there that are willing to help others despite their own issues.

Ive found that the C word has frightened off a few of my freinds where surprisingly others have stepped up. Its a weird world we live in.

    Hi Lisa

Just wanted to add to John and say welcome to the site, best wishes for the treatment you are about to undergo.

Cancer does seem to send some friends running for the hills, but those that do stick around when the going is rough are the ones that you want to have by you during this journey.

Keep on typing away, its very therapeutic to offload sometimes!!

((hugs)) and strength to see you through, Sharonxx
