MRI and PET scan, and I am not close enough to help

Less than one minute read time.

Mum is having an MRI this evening and a PET scan on Monday. She is nervous as suffers terribly from claustrophobia. Sadly the PET scan clashes with my Dad's 16th anniversary which makes it all the more difficult for Mum. I reassured her that they are keeping close tabs on her so that they can catch anything early, but that really doesn't help much. Her fear is there anyway. I wish I was closer and could hug her and go there with her. My brother is taking her but he gets quite matter of fact as the whole emotional side is too much for him. It's at times like this that I wish I had never learned another language and had never left my home country. I wish I was there. I really do. But my kids need me here. Oh well, just have to keep my fingers crossed for Mum...
