changes....

1 minute read time.

Well isnt this new site bloody confusing,i havent even got a clue how i managed to get on this time but im here and updating my long overdue blog and enjoying catching up with others.

My weeks been full of ups and downs,a bit like my life at the moment! Monday was my birthday and i was totally spoiled, went shopping in the morning, pizza hut for lunch then home for dinner with all the family at night, even my dad turned up which was lovely, although after being divorced from my mum and away from us as kids i dont think he coped too well with all the noise, but it was a very happy affair, far too much food consumed, but thats what birthdays are all about!

Saw my renal consultant on Wed and she was happy enough with me and had the pathology results from my kidney extraction,my tumour was a grade  2,which she said on the grand scale of things was very good,so im pleased,i thought i had put on loads of weight but had only put on 2 kilos so that wasnt too bad.I finally opened up (in front of two poor students!) about my anxiety attacks and how low my confidence is and she said its no wonder after all ive been through for the last 8 years, she offered the services of the renal psycologist but i was put off as his name is Mr Potts!!!! Seriously though i have an appointment with maggies centre next Wed to see about their 6 week courses on stress and relaxation,so that might help.

I hope everyone is doing well and managing to access the new site with more ease than me.

    Hi Leigh

Glad you enjoyed your birthday, and pleased that the consultant was pleased with the grade of your tumour.

People I know at the Maggie centre in Dundee who have attended the stress management course have said it was very helpful and of course the support from everybody on the course is great too.

    Take care

hi I attend a mac centre and the relaxation, once learned is great really helps to give you some chill out time! the psychologist who attends our mac group also helps us understand why we feel as we do which helps explain stuff and it makes us realise it's normal to feel the way we do, which also helps to ease the thought that we're losing our minds!
