Day 3 Post EC Chemo Saturday 6th January 2024

1 minute read time.

Ok I don't like seeing 5.30 even morning. So today I decided to start this blog, today, I just got up went downstairs, took my meds had a cuppa and started typing. I waited until 8am to wake hubby with tea in bed this morning. I really wanted a shower today, I didn't bother yesterday as arm was hurting and I didn't fancy putting my shower guard on a sore arm. It was a bit of a struggle getting it on even with the help of hubby. Shower was good, but it's a bit hard washing upper body wearing it, and washing my hair was nightmare, I  should of asked for help and used my shower chair I have ready to use, but it's cleaner than before, and once it falls out which I'm expecting it to start doing in the next few days, I will give it a No1 with the clippers so will be much easier. Ate fruit toast for breakfast, not feeling sick at all

I did 3 loads of washing which hubby hung out to dry as I have been told cant use washing line or iron with my picc in thats a good thing about a picc Sweat smile

Had a lovely walk in the sunshine again today and painted my nails afterwards to protect them a bit from UV. Yes I did wear sunscreen, and gloves while out walking today.

Looking forward to my dinner of homemade chilli and rice, Greek yoghurt honey and some fruit. I'm still drinking lots of fluid, as DO NOT want to get constipated like I did after my Lumpectomy  and second margin op.

Have to start my 7 days of Filgrastim injections, tonight, I'm not looking forward them as most people say that they make your bones ache really bad and make you so tired you don't want to get out of bed. But I will let you know how I get on with that afterwards. I asked around and people say to do them early evening and go to bed soon afterwards so looks like another early night watching TV

  • Hi Alison

How brave to start a blog. It sounds as if you’ve been very busy post session 1  I imagined you’d have a day resting  Good news that you can’t  hang up washing or do the ironing - there must be some advantages!

How are you doing with the Filgrastim injections? I didn’t realise that I’d need to take those too and the side effects sound unpleasant to say the least.

Take care of yourself and keep blogging

  • Hi Jess, had another good day fingers crossed that it continues, and when you have  your next round, things are better for you too. I take my Filgrastim in the evening, but not expecting it to be smooth all the way through.

We will survive, if we take it one day at a time. Xx

  • Hi Kazza

I was expecting to be feeling a lot worse than I am feeling, I do feel really tired, but am trying to do a little walk each day.

I was petrified about the injections as all you hear and read is the nasty side effects people have. Maybe it's a little of mind over matter.

I am keeping a hand written log too but this is much better, especially if it helps someone else too.

Will keep blogging, there's a first for everything. Xxx
