Alittle bit of good news

1 minute read time.
Well have had a weird week or so with one thing and another. Lost two friends to this dreadful disease and although it was expected it still came as a bit of shock and upset me. I also have a dear friend on the website who is losing his wife too which is desperatley sad (you know who you are - big hug xx) My kids have had some really difficult times recently with one thing and another also so I have decided to go back to my psychologist who always helps me get things back into perpsective for me. Anyway I had radiotherapy to my sternum and hip 6 weeks ago (for bone pain) and have been getting over that. I went away to Fuertaventura for a week at half term which was lovely and used Mia Online for my travel insurance again. Yesterday out of the blue I got a letter with an appointment to see my oncologist so off I trotted this morning. What a suprise - he took some bloods and says as long as they come back ok/reasonable I am to have a rest from treatment for a month -and so on while I am stable !! Yipee. That means I can go to London in May and wont be on chemo! I am very happy about this and most suprised as I have been straight from one type of treatment to another since Feb '08. It seems the Zeloda/Capecitabine has worked wonders and my Liver is now stable. I am to be reviewed once a month and while everything is ok - I get no treatment!!! Off to London I go in 2 weeks time for a girly champagne weekend - we are going to have a class at a cookery school to learn how to make pasta (ha ha should be a laugh), go on the London Eye, catch a show and go shopping..........he he he I just wanted to post some good news for a change. Who would have thought I would be hearing those words - no treatment required for a month when last year I was so frightened and despondant after diagnosis. I know it can't last forever but hey - Im going to make Hay while the sun shines. :o) Love to you all, Jools xxx
