treatment a week later than normal?

Hi guys,

I've just had a lovely cruise holiday while actually on treatment. The doctor gave me 4 weeks between treatments rather than 3 because the Topetecan I have needs 5 daily sessions and with Easter and bank holidays it leaves 3 weeks when I can't have it. We are doing 2 x 4 weeks instead of 3 weeks and 5 weeks. So.... withtreatment just a week later my CA 125 has gone up slightly from 225 to 239. Is it because of the later treatment or do I conclude that things are not really working properly. I had a tummy bug on the boat, and have had pains since that feel like a blockage, and is more uncomfortable when I'm walking than sitting. Anybody else had a similar problem.

I think I'm going to give up going on holiday as I always come back bad!

Glad to say my pains have gone today, so I presume it was just a strained muscle for heaving. Thank heaven.

Hi Viv,

Have only just read your blog but glad to read that your pains have gone. Try not to worry too much about a small increase in the CA125, it can fluctuate and doesn't mean the treatment isn't working. Very best of luck with the rest of your treatment and hope you feel well.
