Roland Ratso - the aftermath - four men in a boat "what a carry on!"

1 minute read time.

The  interior of Lillia with Alex in the galley creating a culinary disaster. The seating just in front of Alex is the infamous bunk that no-one wanted but someone had to have! My bunk is immediately to the left in the foreground with copious quantities of black plastic bags for Tom-ass’s indiscretions of which there were many. Note the hoist track in the roof for paraplegics. Lillia really does have everything for the disabled.

Ronnie taking on water at Bideford. The bridge on the right was built by Cicstertian monks in the sixteenth century. It is still standing today in spite of my attempts to demolish whilst going through it! Picko left his work card "Picko Building" in the pub just in case he could get some work after we had been through it twice!

So after an eventful day’s cruising we moored up at Bideford for the night adjacent to a pub (where else) the Frog (and Bulrush) a charming hostelry, where we were introduced to Mad Goose ale which left us hale and hearty. It was also their steak night and we were soon tucking in to lumps of meat ( Picko ordered his – take its horns off and wipe its arse and that’ll do – for a man who says he doesn’t eat nothing he sure gives a good impression.)

Back to the boat determined to go to bed when the party animal was unleashed again. “Get out the glasses, the sun is below the yardarm. Splice the mainbrace!” Picko the party animal wasn’t taking any prisoners.

Actually a picture of my left thumb but if you look carefully you can see the river level after the floods in July 2007.

Pcko "hard at it" waiting for a lock to fill. Enthusiasm gave way to caution when he opened a gate paddle and nearly sunk the boat.

Well all of this boating has given me a terrible thirst. I'll be back!
