A useful link

Less than one minute read time.

Sometimes you will hear me complaining that I have run out of spoons, or that the cutlery drawer is empty. When I do that, I'm talking about the spoon theory, completely forgetting that everybody does not spend their entire life faffing about on the internet so some people won't know what I'm talking about. Not that there is anything new there.

When I talk about the spoon theory, I'm talking about this: http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/articles/written-by-christine/the-spoon-theory-written-by-christine-miserandino/

She sums it up pretty well.

So now you know.

I think I have minus spoons tonight! I suspect dinner will be creamed rice out of the tin - heating up soup or scrambling an egg are out. I want to watch Merlin, but that only involves getting downstairs, under the sofa duvet, and staying awake.

Actually, I am awake and would much rather be asleep until the various aches and pains wear off.

Ugh, listen to me. Getting whiny. I'd best use my spoons for something other than typing!

Hi hilary, I too have just read he spoon theory, It hs really made me think, I never actually tought about it like that. It really shows how hard the little things taken for granted can be to a fit and healthy preson.

Blow the housework and take care of you.

Wow......The Spoon Theory sums it up nicely....it made me realise how much planning we had to do for Dave in the begining and still do to some extent.......today he has fewer spoons, went out without his scarf and is suffering great pain and discomfort, on the sofa with the quilt and painkillers.

Thanks Hilary and hope you gain a few spoons today and more tomorrow xxx

    big hug (((((((((((((((Hilary)))))))))))))

    Hi Hilary,

Thank you for sharing your link... I have heard Little My saying about spoons and now all is crystal clear!

I might just have to share your link with my family and friends as it is sometimes hard to explain why some things take such a large amount of my energy.. today it took nearly 2 hours to shower and dress.. something that I would normally take for granted as a given..
