Debs Daily Deliberations 241

RIBBIT RIBBIT

My day started with the usual ritual humiliation of having to phone someone and apologise for me forgetting something.  The Dorey/CRAFT moments seemed to have peaked lately Confused Anyway backtrack to Sunday and we have an army of ants marching around our kitchen......so massive cleanup and de-anting took place.  In the midst of this Tony checks Jack's othodontist appt card......whoops, we had missed his appt.....by two weeks!  Now you see it all comes back to me, the date they gave was after the start of his GCSE's and I was supposed to come home, check his exam timetable and let them know.  What happened in reality was I came home and put the appt card back up on the cork board.  So poor Buttercup takes the blame again and we are rescheduled for Weds morning!

So after all the turmoil I take a cuppa tea and head into the garden to sit by our little pond.  I saw what I thought was an old leaf in the pond but on closer examination, it was a perfect tiny little froad (well I don't know if its a frog or toad lol).  I was so excited that our first tadpole had made the transition I ran inside and phoned Tony who strangely wasn't quite as excited as me - go figure LOL  Now I have to tell you that I learned from an old episode of QI last now, that the only place on earth the frogs go ribbit ribbit are around the pacific coast of America.....nowhere else and there endeth todays learn something new lesson Big Smile

But you see healthy human beings still don't take time to smell the roses and drink in the marvels of the natural world as much as us sicko's or sickies whatever you think you are Wink  I grabbed my camera and headed back to the pond (takes about 20 steps as we only have a small garden).  Hmmmm the little bugger had disappeared! but in his place two big  froads had surfaced, obviously we had the sad death of the turd toad so I am calling these two the Froad King & Queen.

We have a lovely cast iron patio set on the patio (of course, where else would it be Huh? but by our pond we have just two ordinary green plastic garden variety chairs.  Ollie had made himself very comfortable on one of them so I thought, oh he's so cute lets have a picture.  So while "mummy" is telling him to 'work the camera darling' he gives me a look of "what the f&*K???? are you on woman"

Now I digress a little, I had seen a thread entitled "please grieve privately" and kept noticing that lots of people had been posting on it.  Being a woman and of naturally curious nature (ok ok nosey) I finally cracked today and had a look.  Now whilst my first reaction was a bit miffed at the original post, having lost several very dear (albeit internet) friends on this site, I carried on reading the replies and began to feel a little uncomfortable at the barracking this person was getting.  By the time I got to the end, where I see my old pal Kezzer offering to befriend the person in question, I too felt more than a little sorry for her.  We could all be wrong and she could have totally meant every word she wrote, but I have a feeling it was a "spur of the moment" type post coming from desperation, hitting a low point and just plain scared.  We all have an amazing capacity to rally around our friends on here but at the same time, I do notice that we can also become very mob handed and gang up on people very quickly - rightly or wrongly - I am not apportioning blame.  These are just the thoughts of an often very confused headcase after all!!!!!!!!!  I hope the original poster comes to find this site is great for support, laughter (at and with) and compassion.

Thought for the day:

Debs, why is it we women are still the ones the buck stops with?  Even when we need to be mothered ourselves?  I am glad I am not the only one who forgets EVERYTHING - I turned up at hospital for an appointment that was yesterday once, I was so angry with myself.  I love your border terrier, he has such character - I've got a jack russell terrier who whinks he's one of the Kray twins protecting me.  It's a shame someone is being barracked on here as we all have something positive to give to the site.  Great blog.  My frogs keep being attached by my jrt so they have become really clever at hiding now or maybe they've moved on to safer climbs.  Take care, Ann
