Debs Daily Deliberations 226

3 minute read time.

I did say I would come back and update if anything exciting happened during my break.  Well on the scale of world peace this is pretty insignificant, but on the scale of my battle with Buttercup its another milestone.

Yesterday after getting everyone off to school I hung the xmas stockings on the stair ballastrades (our stairs are in the lounge) and vacuumed before heading off out in the rain with the 'Twirlies" to catch the bus into town.  I was on a mission.

Got off the bus and went straight into Claire's accessories, wandered around having a nose when a young assistant came over to ask if I was OK.  So I just came out with it.....I am quite bald at the front of my head from RT and wondered if you had any wide fabric headbands.  "yes, come with me" she says and takes me to the corner where they do indeed have quite an array of said headbands.

She leaves me to go through them and I settle on 3, a black very wide stretchy one - good for everyday, a brown with gold thread very light material one and a grey silky one with fancy black lace stitched on (gotta have some bling for crimbo eh!).  So £12 later I left with a little bag of excitement.

Bumped into a few people I know who all lied and said how wonderful I looked considering - considering what!!!!!  Ah well, just smile and wish them a Happy Christmas!  Before I left, a long sleeved black top and a loose knitted green jumper fell into a bag and was purchased to be put straight into the wardrobe when I get home.  You fella's know about this I am sure but us women do it anyway.  We buy things, take the tags off and put them in the wardrobe.......a few weeks later said new items start to appear "is that new darling"......."this? no, been in the wardrobe for AGES!" hah it works, whether you play along or really are that daft I don't care, it works LOL

So fast forward to Friday and my upcoming milestone.  My little sister Diane is driving over from Shoeburyness and we are going to be "ladies wot lunch" and browse a couple of Christmas stores for tableclothes and yet more decorations.  This is something to look forward to on any occassion but today.........drum roll puleeeeeze ....... I will be leaving my house without a wig or a hat on for the first time since March 2009!!!!!!  I AM SO EXCITED.

Ok the wide headband thingy isn't a great look on me, but I trial-run one yesterday and managed to wear it all day without getting a hot and itchy head.  This makes me really happy as I have family coming over on Boxing Day and the thought of wearing a hat all day - even tho it was going to be a crimbo one - is not great.  My head itches and gets hot and just generally uncomfy but I am not ready for my family to see my big round bald spot!

So thats it folks, you can go back to whatever you were doing.  I hope all my friends on here are getting through their treatment - I do pop on everyday and read the blogs etc to keep up.

Its now time to get the kids ready for school and straighten my hair ready for its big outing!

Our little tree (thats the boys karate trophies behind!)

Thought for today:
It is foolish to tear one's hair in grief, as though sorrow would be made less by baldness.
Cicero

thought that was apt as my whole blog was about covering my baldness lol

    Hi Debs

Love the tree - Xmas is my favourite time of the year - I am also anal about matching colours - each year I even have to have the same colour wrapping paper as the tree decs - it drives my daughters nuts!

    The headband looks absolutely fab.

Good to see you back on here.

    Have a good week x

You little tinker - I nearly missed you because I was back in hospital yesterday - just a false alarm but bloody agony in the ambulance. Can't say I will be anal about colours or anything else ever again! So glad you nipped back and congrats on yet another milestone. Irene tries the "What this old thing" routine as well and yes, it does work.

    Glad to see you back,

    Keep smiling

    love

    Drew

hope you enjoyed lunch. My wig was always the first thing off when I got back in the house - now it's coming into its own as the frost starts up here. I laughed at the 'considering' comment:) someone once said to me "but you look so...normal!" - yeah just don't make me angry, haha.

great to see you back love kx
