Debs Daily Deliberations 223

4 minute read time.

Wednesday or as some of my American friends like to say - Hump Day! Had a fairly decent nights sleep but still didn't really wanna get up at 7am when the alarm went off.  Came downstairs, went to the loo (washed my hands) and took my anti-nausea tablet.  Made a cuppa for Tony and I and sorted out the kids lunches, I will admit I have been "très lazy" this week in that I bought some of those nasty cheese dippers, Philadelphia Snackpots and even some Chocolate Dippers to go with their apples, carton of apple juice and crisps.  Just in case I didn't feel like making 4 different rounds of sarnies each morning.  As it turns out I could have done it, but its been a pleasant change just grabbing it all out of the fridge and making 3 seperate piles on the kitchen counter for the kids to take - or not as it happened today!

Tony goes to work first around 7.45am, followed by Jack between 7.50am and 8am and then Lara and Sean leaves by 8.10am as he bikes.  Just as Sean was going he called out that there were still two piles of lunch on the side...."what flavour crisps?" I call from upstairs sorting laundry "prawn cocktail".....ahhhh thats Lara's.  Sean then says, "I am not taking it" and so ensued a heated discussion which of course I won.  Took me 4 attempts to phone and tell her to wait at Tesco's for Sean to ride up and pass her lunch on.  Phew, is nothing easy in this life lol

Took my poison with the Mexican Lime Cordial and an hour later I had a cuppa tea, some digestive biscuits and 2mgs of Dex.  Wasn't very hungry at lunchtime so just had another cup of tea and some more digestives. So I had an easy day alround, some washing up, some laundry, replied to some family emails enquiring how my treatment was going etc.  Played a few scrabble moves, browsed the internet for some more christmas present inspiration - plenty of inspiration just not plenty of cash to make them a reality.  Ah well, its only "monitor shopping", the computer version of "window shopping".  I watched some TV programmes I had recorded earlier in the week and everyone was coming home.

I didn't have to go to Tesco's today as I had already planned tonights dinner, another easy one Chicken Kievs, Chips & Pea's and for Sean and Lara the same but with Chicken Escalopes.  Whacked it all into the oven and 30mins tadaaaaaaaaa dinner is served.  Not my most impressive fare but it doesn't hurt now and again does it.  Tony and I took a drive out to Hoddesdon to a lady that had supplied our old karate club with medals and trophies for the end of year presentations.  We had not been able to contact her through email this time and I wondered if she had given it up.  She had a show room in her garage but last time I saw her, she was back working part-time in a school. So I had typed up a little letter and posted it through her door. We were only out for an hour but it gave us a chance to have a little chat without the kids either fighting in the background or interupting!

Early evening and I realised that I hadn't been to........."number two's" today, despite still drinking tea, eating breakfast with fibre, having fresh pommegranate juice and eating licorice twists.  I was starting to feel uncomfortable and don't want it to end up like I was on the last cycle, so I took two Senna tablets.  We watched Waterloo Road as a family. Why was school never that exciting when I was there!

In some respects there are comparisons, the school was in Chigwell an affluent area (although I had to get two buses from Loughton everyday as I passed my 11+ & chose to go there - or my parents chose for me should I say!) but it had just changed from being a technical high to a comprehensive and now encompassed the catchment area for Limes Farm Estate, a new council development.  There was plenty of evidence of the "haves" and the "have nots" even while wearing uniform!  I remember being in Sixth Form and one of the boys in upper sixth had passed his driving test and drove into school in a brand new Jaguar!  Him and his brother used to drive the dinner ladies nuts on a Monday by always having a £50 note to pay for their school dinners with!  Think it cost 75p a day back then!

Anyway back to the future (or present) and as IACGMOOH wasn't on, the boys commondeered the TV with Call of Duty!  I came on the computer for a bit and went to bed just after 10pm.  This cycle of chemo seems to be going so fast, not that I am complaining and as long as I become quickly "unbunged" it will have been easy you could say.  I think that not taking my anti-seizure meds this week has helped.  I should take 200mg of Carbemazepine twice daily but its one of the meds that are listed in the leaflet for Dexamethasone as reducing its effect.  As I haven't had a seizure in 'two days off from being a year'  I feel fairly confident I could get through these five days at least.  Buttercup has been a very good girl so far and long may that continue!

a poppy from a few years back!
