Sunday I woke around 8am to hear the wind gusting along the street and peeped through the blind to see the mighty Oaks leaves being scattered to the four corners of the earth but mostly being deposited in my front garden!! I got back in bed and pulled the duvet over me, Tony had left for work around 5am to do some overtime. The dogs curled up beside me, the kids sound asleep......lovely! Well except for the headache and stomach ache! I don't know why but I expected the senna tablets to work overnight and for me to be able to "promptly produce" in the morning. Alas that was not to be. Todays photo intermissions are from a walk along the River Stort we took in May this year.
Tony came home just after 9am and I made him a coffee we had a quick chat, he went on his laptop to do all the important things (tend his farm, sort out his mob - we are talking Facebook here!) and then he went and made me a lovely bacon sarnie, skipped on the egg this weekend! Two cups of tea later I managed to produce some "rabbit droppings"......did it make me feel better - NO, in a word.
Managed to entice the eldest out of his bedroom to take him to buy new schoolshoes, remember the story of the entire sole "falling off" after only 3 weeks.......well we walked around two shops (right next door to each other), he didn't like much...... what he liked didn't fit! I was getting grumpy (already uncomfortable and now irritable) and told him to just try on every bloomin pair of black size 7 mens shoes until he found something. Then I felt bad because he said something along the lines of, "but some of these are £50 or more......I know you and Dad are always tight for cash". I told him that he walks to and from school everyday and that he needed a good comfortable pair of shoes, we don't want him ruining his feet ! So a nice pair of Ben Sherman soft leather shoes .... £50 on the nose and we are done. Everyone's a winner eh!
Popped into Tesco's on the way back for some flour - another £53 later and we are home! This is going to be one expensive Toad in The Hole We had roast potato's, butternut squash, spinach, vichy carrots and I did two different Toads - one with roasted red onion and one for the kids without! No one left anything so I think it hit the spot. I had now drunk a giant bottle of J20, a glass of tropical fruit squash, taken two spoonfuls of Lactolose solution and still nada! I was NOT happy.......not being able to crap makes you feel crap - FULL STOP!
We all settled down to watch X Factor, I was a bit sad to see Rachel go - I admit she hasn't got the personality of some of the others but her voice is good - then I had to do a bit of "husband beating" when Jedward went through, cos my stupid drunk hubby voted for them on Saturday and it was obviously all his fault. Anyway in all the excitement, I need to dash to the loo - hallelujah we have moved onto passing "malteasers"......well its an improvement. I am ashamed to say (and I hope my mother never reads these) I had really bad wind all evening, it may have died down outside but not in our house. This caused great amusement amongst the kids but Tony wasn't so happy at me "getting my own back". Watched another great episode of House and went to bed........weekend done!
