Debs Daily Deliberations 194

4 minute read time.

Tuesday day two of cycle 5 and it started out pretty good.  I am even doing well on keeping my fluids up by 9am I had drunk 3 large Coca Cola Glasses of orange squash.  Of course there is a downside to this, I am constantly running to the bloomin loo - thank goodness we have a downstairs toilet.  Todays photographic intermissions come from Jimmy's Farm in Suffolk August 2008, I love Jimmy Doherty and watch most of his tv shows, so we took Lara for a day out (ok and me LOL).

I had taken all my tablets on time (sort of) and the day wasn't going too badly.  I even felt upto a walk to Tesco's today (no one mentioned that I didn't go yesterday!) so off I go and get a few more bits for my beef stew I am cooking on Wednesday.  The walk back was a little slower than usual but I didn't mind.

Lara's bedroom has been a tip for weeks, it would be an insult to pigs to call it a pigsty.  So I've been promising that she could go Trick or Treating with a friend this year as she is at secondary school (its killing me to say I'll let her out in the dark, but there are lots of families T or T'ing and everyone knows who you are here) and not me Crying BUT her room as to be tidy (yaaaaay finally something that will make her do it Wink) and I am impressed, she spent 3 hours in there and you could see the floor from her bedroom door, round the corner was a huge pile she still has to go through but its a start and there was no complaining.

Lara is so different to the boys, come lunchtime she asks if she can make herself some cheese toasties in the sandwich toaster.  I waver but say yes, can't make her stay a little girl forever and she is keen to do things for herself, thats a good thing.  Her brothers wouldn't dream of "making" lunch.  Sean goes in and grabs some chocolate chinois's and a bag of crisps! and Jack comes down outta the bedroom at the smell of cheese toasties and decides he will make himself some supernoodles.  This was painful, every 2 seconds "mummmmmmmmmmm" but he did it and at 15yo he really should know more about how a kitchen works but... I "mother" them too much apparently.

I did some laundry and washed up and by 4pm I felt totally exhausted, it just came outta nowhere and hit me.........WHAM! I still managed to go into the kitchen and cook two minced beef pasta bakes, one with red onion, garlic and mushrooms for Tony and I and one with just garlic and a splash of Worcestershire Sauce in the kids.  Cleared up my mess and sat down and watched TV.  Tony came home and I cooked a plate of crumpets as they were off to karate tonight and will eat on their return.  Lara did herself some toasted teacakes, I passed on both.  The "Buttercup headache" started to rear her ugly head for the rest of the day.

With the boys home I had the pasta bakes ready and we all sat together and had tea.  Jack disappeared back to his room, so did Lara (now that she has some space to play), Sean was on his laptop, I mooched around facebook, played a few scrabble moves, checked the blogs on here while Tony was allies with Russia and attacking some Japanese floating base - on Command & Conquor!  By 9pm I couldn't keep my eyes open and headed to bed.  Nice and comfy and 10mins later all I can hear is Dexter going nuts in the garden - oh no..........not another hedgehog.  This time the prickly fella had wandered into the far left corner of our garden (tis only 40ft long mind) where we have a Scottish Blue Spruce and ground covering conifer type plants.  However, this is Dexters den, he has dug out a huge hole under the ground cover plants  and this is where he hides his toys etc.  Mind you it was Dexter that came off worse as he tried to drag the invader out of his den, he was left with quite a few prickles stuck in his lips and around his chops.  The hedgehog was none the worse for the encounter.  We can't work out though how they are getting in, we have a side-gate but it comes right to the ground, we then have a second side gate which prevents our dogs from going round near the shed. They can easily come from one of our neighbours very small garden but it only has a back access, which leads out on a driveway and other houses.....to the front we have a garden, our neighbours don't and opposite is an old hedgerow that was on the farmland originally.......so it would make sense that this is probably where its coming from.....but hows it getting in???  I helped clean Dexter up and went straight back to bed and slept until 2.40pm a whole hour later than usual, even went back to sleep quite quickly after a comfort stop.

Thought for today:
There are only three things
that can kill a farmer: lightning, rolling over in a tractor and old age.
