Debs Daily Deliberations 193

3 minute read time.

Monday and day one of half term and also day one of my 5th cycle of Temodal.  8am I swallowed one tablet granisetron an anti-nausea tab, 9am 240mgs of Temodal went down with glugs and glugs of orange squash (I go off hot drinks) and still the nasty toxic backdraft reaches your tastebuds.  So through screwed up face, I drink more squash.  One hour later I can have breakfast, so two slices of toast and butter and 2mgs Dexamethasone.  So by 10am poison DONE.  Todays photographic intermissions are a few of the special moments & photos I like of my kids doing karate.

Thats Jack in 2005, Valencia Spain with his instructor after getting his blackbelt, aged 11.

Lara went off to Town with a friend, can't believe how fast she is growing up.  Sean went out with friends to play football and Jack stayed in his bedroom doing whatever 15yo boys do and probably their Mum's don't want to know about !!!  Made Jack and I some chicken sarnies for lunch with leftover roast chicken from yesterday.

Thats Sean in 2006, Somerset with his instructor after passing his blackbelt, aged 10.

The afternoon was passed by with me tidying the lounge putting cushion covers back on (why did I think cream would be a good colour with 3 kids and 2 dogs!) and then dragging Henry out for a dance around the floor.  We were accompanied by Ollie, barking and growling at Henry intermittently.

This is my favourite photo of the boys, taken the day after Sean got his Blackbelt.

It was now late afternoon and I had a hint that 'Buttercup' was around but she was behaving quite well and no nausea so into the kitchen, wash up and start dinner.  Kids have bangers, mash, mixed veg & worcestershire sauce gravey.  Tony and I had reduced fat spicey German sausages with organic red onion and chestnut mushrooms finished in a red wine ju with wholegrain mustard mash.  It was filling and comforting on a day that started out sunny and ended cold and grey.

This was taken at the British Karate Federation Children's National Competition 2008 where Jack, Sean & their friend James won a Silver in the under 15yo Boys Team Kata.

With dinner done, Tony went and had a well deserved soak in the bath, he left before 6am for work and didn't get home till 6.15pm, the overtime will come in handy though.  With Tony's laptop not playing nice, we sat together on mine and made the changes to their clubs syllabus that he & Paul worked on at Costa's on Sunday.  Red-Orange belt done and I came off to watch Fast Forward and let Tony 'play' on my computer.  I went to bed at 10pm and red another short story by Stephen King, Tony joined me and played Tomb Raider on one of the boys PSP's for a bit.  I woke at the usual time of 1.30am ish (actually it was 1.41am) and I had really really bad indigestion.......probably all those red onions.  Went downstairs and had a glass of milk and took a ranitidine tablet......at this point I remembered I hadn't taken that horse sized tablet of anti-biotics that I have to take every Monday, Wednesday & Friday for the entire 6months of chemo, popped that as well and went back to bed and slept really quite well for a change.

Just love this photo, taken at the Grove Hotel last year during a demonstration on their volleyball beach.

I have had to edit this post about 10 times, must be chemo brain or should I just blame it on Buttercup!

Thought for today:
Perhaps the most important thing we can undertake toward the reduction of fear is to make it easier for people to accept themselves, to like themselves.
