Debs Daily Deliberations 185

4 minute read time.

Sunday yes I remembered to put my mobile on silent and I woke at 8am exactly, quite happy with my extra hour in bed. Left hubby there and went downstairs and let the dogs out and had great pleasure watching them race back upstairs with wet paws to jump all over Tony - oh did I say that! I made a tea and coffee and shock surprise, Tony got up! we sat on our computers next to each other and read our emails - his all karate related, mine all brain tumour research news etc - got to 9am and Tony got his booty back in our kitchen to cook us another bacon and egg sarnie (they are bad for us I know but soooooooooo good). Eaten and satisfied I decided I might as well get dressed, long denim skirt and one of my new tops I bought. It was then we decided to try somewhere new to walk the dogs, I had seen signs to a park in Sawbridgeworth a stones throw from the Beckhams place. Looked it up on the net and it looked good, so before we went there I made Tony pull into the Range and I bought myself some Wellington Boots.

I am determined to be more than just a fair weather dog walker this year but I am not getting my leather boots covered in mud! There was a pale blue pair with daffodils all over them with a donation going to Marie Curie Cancer.....typical, they didn't have them in my size. So I got a pair with butterflies all over them.......hubby was impressed Indifferent.

Took the short drive to Sawbo as the locals call it and pull into Pishiobury Park....car after car of dog walkers! The park was a huge expanse of untended land, spattered with old and fresh cowpats.....oh so glad I got my Wellies LOL

It was quite hilly in places and I got out of puff quite quickly but know it did me good - even though all the photos I took were on the flat.

The dogs had the romp of their lives.....thankfully neither rolled in the cowpats although I am not convinced that Dexter didnt take a couple of mouthfulls when he was "sniffing" some. They got to socialise with lots of dogs, something we left quite late with Dexter but determined not to do with Ollie.

They ran around with all manner of dogs and behaved really well until we were almost back to the car and a gorgeous Black Lab puppy we had met earlier in the walk came running over to Tony and me and was jumping excitedly at us....Dexter and Ollie DID NOT like that all lol

Home and the dogs collapsed for hours in fact they pretty much snoozed on and off ALL day. I so wish I had taken my camera for the walk, the park was beautiful in the Autumn sun and all I got was a few snaps on my mobile.....still there's always next weekend. Tony started preparing the garden for winter, moving his Japanese Acers next to the house, taking the Parasol down from the table - this years its being stored in the loft as last year a family of mice used our last one to make their nest comfortable! 4pm and it was Grand Prix time, this was something that Tony and I always watched together when we lived in our little flat but after the death of Senna and as time went on and new rules came in, I lost interest...I watch the start (the most exciting bit) and go off and do something less boring instead Wink but I have to admit I was dashing inbetween the kitchen and lounge watching it this time.....and the result couldn't have been better Jenson Button crowned 2009 F1 Champion Driver and Brawn GP taking the Constructors title in their maiden year. Well done chaps!

6pm and dinner was served, Tony had asked for Cottage Pie (well he asked for Shepherds Pie but I can't stand lamb mince) so I made a huge dish of that with Lara having her own variation, cocktail sausages in veggie gravey with mash on top and cooked in the oven. I am surprised I had any pattern left on my plates....the kids did their homework and had their baths and it was time for the X Factor results show. Sorry guys Cheryl is a stunning lady but.....not much else to say about her performance but kudos for doing it live. Whitney can still sing but what is it about that show - Robbie looked wired last week and Whitney couldn't string a sentence together. Who's next week Amy Winehouse duetting with Pete Doherty??? Can't they find better role models for these young singers? I was truly disgusted to find the Tw*t Twins got through and I am holding Sammieo & Positivelady responsible for that Stick out tongue I know Rachel & Ricky didn't do brilliantly and I cringed that Rachel tried a U2 song for the sing off.....but they are heaps more talented than the Irish Idiots.....nuff said, blood pressure coming down now.

Finished my evening with a healthy dose of House, Hugh Lawrie is fabulous, what else can I say. All in all, another great weekend and here's to many more - oh and as you can see, I've learned how to put photo's in now.

Thought for today:

  • Oh Debs, don't talk to me about dogs and cow pats! Picture the scene: beautiful expanse of water meadow leading down to a river with a backdrop of dramatic mountains. My husband and I were away on a romantic weekend staying in a posh hotel and walking our darling dogs on the water meadow unaware that cows had been frolicking there earlier. Darling dogs found some lovely fresh juicy cow pats and ensured they covered themselves from nose to tail. Argh!

By the way - doesn't anyone on here follow Strictly Come Dancing?

    Best wishes,

Oh Kate.......am laughing, makes me feel better about the time Dexter rolled in fox poo - smelt like sick!

N, I choose my mobile phone by the camera but its only a 5mp, when I say camera I mean't wish I had my DSLR with me, but its quite big and negotiating dog leads and treats and poo bags and camera not easy!
