Debs Daily Deliberations 176

4 minute read time.

Thursday another morning and no Buttercup, I think she's gone till the end of October when I start the next cycle. Woke before the alarm and had a nice long cuddle with hubby and both dogs, Ollie likes to go under the covers and snuggle between the two of us - he will learn that under the covers is a dangerous place when Tony is in the bed (noxious gases!). Get up and the sun is shining, blue skies.......what a great start to the day. Get the kids off to school and I have a nice relaxing bath, with lotsa bubbles (at least Carol doesn't have to be jealous now) I got given so much "pampering" stuff when I got diagnosed that I am slowly working my way through it. Bathtime kinda reminds me of when the kids were little, instead of little children peering over the side, I now have Ollie. He stays guarding me throughout but makes getting out quite precarious as I try to step over him and grab my bathrobe before he can start licking the bubbles off my legs!!!!!

I was in an extremely good mood, the sun seems to have worked wonders. I pull out denim skirt, brown jumper and find a matching neck scarf...do my hair and apply makeup! dig my brown leather & suede boots out of the hall cupboard and pop on a gillet and hat and am ready for my walk to Tesco's. I "virtually" skipped along.......as in I walked briskly and happily in the autumn sun. Down one of the alleyways the leaves have started to pile up.....no one was around so.....I spent a good few minutes kicking them up in the air - I love AUTUMN! Did the shopping and enjoyed the walk back, the leaves are turning and the splendour of "fall" has really started. Put my shopping away, hang out the laundry and decide its camera time.

I am a very enthusiastic shutterbug, no experience other than taking hundreds and hundreds of photos a year (an external hardrive full of em). Check my camera is charged and has a memory card in it - I keep leaving it in the cardreader slot on my computer! and off I go. There's some gorgeous tree's that I click away at, the ducks came out of the pond expecting me to feed them instead I just snap. Walk around the corner to a shady double pond and two horseriders come along - now I am SCARED witless of horses, I think they are beautiful just don't like being near them. I stand to one side of the leafy alleyway to let them through and just as the first horse is passing, he starts to buck and my heart nearly came out of my chest and I realised I had let out not such a little "ohhhhhhhhhhh" noise, the rider calls down "it's ok he's seen a dog"...yeah ok to you, but BIG horse vs 4ft 11" women, who'd you put your money on LOL

I survive the "when horses go bad" attack and continue on my way. I can hear someone walking rather quickly up behind me and turn to see a guy with two huge and gorgeous irish wolfhounds. I get a bit nervous when out and about on my own with my camera in the slightly less travelled parts of our development, the camera isn't flash or anything but worth a few hundred quid...the guy comes right upto me and "oh a D50, nice camera.......I've just bought the D40 wish I had invested when the kids were young"....we start chatting about camera's and dogs and I go on my way feeling a little guilty that I had worried myself that he was going to do something other than chat - a sign of the times eh!

Back to my garden and I take a few shots of the cyclamen that have colonised under my huge Cordyline before back inside and load the photo's straight onto the computer. A few ok shots but nothing spectacular today however, an interesting walk and I got out in the sunshine. I had bought a fresh Tiger loaf earlier and lunch literally consisted of 3 big ol' chunks of bread and butter and a cuppa tea. Put the jacket spuds in the oven, washed up and the family started to arrive home one by one - in fact Sean scared the life outta me, I was washing up and singing rather loudly to me and the dogs that I didn't hear him come in, got right up behind me the little bugger!! Thats almost two heart attacks today!

Dinner was baked potato's with chili for Tony & Jack, rice and chili for Sean, baked potato with cheese and a piece of chicken for Lara and I had a spud with cheese and coleslaw. Cleared away and we headed off to karate. I had a good hour chinwagging with a friend from our old club (who's son has defected to us) and a Japanese lady who seriously cracks me up (when I can understand what she is saying). She has been battling breast cancer for 10 years now and has an amazing spirit, she volunteers at the cancer unit to help others, volunteers at the local school - makes me feel quite ashamed. Home and the TV's on but I am not interested until 9pm....new series of Bones, David Boreanez is very easy on the eye and now we have something in common, he'd had brain surgery (ok ok his character had LOL). Went to bed just after 10pm still feeling happy - today had been a REALLY GOOD DAY.

Thought for today:
What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.

Angela, we have a problem with leaves, the wind seems to swirl them around the top of our drive....we have a huge Oak tree on the corner of our street (was farmland before and they have kept all the mature tree's and original hedgerows where possible) and I am sure 90% of its leaves end up in my garden!!!!!

Mavis there was a method in my madness, I didn't want to name the tumour something really horrible and pee it off more than it already was.....and figured as a weed is nothing more than a flower that grows where its unwanted.....Buttercup the brain tumour sounded good but then I am a certfied "headcase" !

hahaha, Debs and Andrew - I don't even know the difference - but I know my little point and shoot is a very poor relation. lol.

The walks sounds lovely Deb and it was a great day yesterday, going to take Poppy the agility dog to the forest today if it brightens up - Eau de damp dog is not nice, neither is eau de muddy dog and its a bit dewy underfoot.

    Whats for dinner tonight?

    Love Carol x

Ditto where I live. Was farm land and they've kept all the mature trees, including an enormous oak tree opposite my house, but not only that, we have a wood behind us and I'm sure all the ruddy trees from there are blowing their leaves to my drive! Started to look at the garden vacuums, a definite must but for this autumn.
