Debs Daily Deliberations 173

5 minute read time.

Monday am finally getting used to waking up feeling rank. Went to bed Sunday headache free and feeling pretty good, wake up and hello......when did you get back??? Thankfully the headache subsides fairly quickly after getting up and organising the troops, Sean is on some Phys Ed off timetable thing all day, so PE shorts, Top and school tracksuit for him, Lara is doing netball after school, so uniform and PE Kit, same with Jack he has double PE today....finally get the right top to the right kid and throw in some lunch for good measure - then get outta my house kids!!!!!!!! Before they leave its a frantic search for all the raincoats which haven't seen the light of day since before the summer holidays. Jack is majorly peeved as he's just spent 20mins doing his hair and its raining like mad...I am thinking of buying him one of those plastic bonnets the old dears keep in little cannisters in their handbags lol.

Finally the last child leaves and as the door shuts, peace and serenity. Even the dogs have curled up asleep. Now the winter months are harder for me to get through as my washing obsession takes over the house. Not only do we not own a dishwasher, we don't own a tumble drier either. I am not a greeny environ"mental" freak....but, well yes washing up by hand is a pain.....but a dishwasher is still a luxury not a necessity, the same as a TD. If I had one, I know I would be tempted to dry all the washing in it and besides, my kitchen is just not big enough to house another two appliances. Wonder if Macmillan give grants for a single storey extension???? So, I have to slow down on the washing so I can get it dry on my clothes horses (do they still call them that?). I know I know, I am living in the dark ages.....my Dad nags me every year to get a TD, but unless he wants to pick up my electric bill....I am holding off.....but watch this space, with the growing family, uniform, PE kits and karate uniforms plus general household washing, I may cave yet!

Forgot to tell you all that on Saturday we had our new bins delivered from the council. A half sized food waste bin with small kitchen caddy, a large blue lidded wheelie for recycling and a small non-recycled waste wheelie. Everyone bar me has been moaning about the introduction of the new refuse system. I am an avid recycler, born of a Dad who has been recycling since the 70's and before we had these silly little white recycling holdalls - which you had to scour the street after collection cos they blew away! I always had far more to recycle than would fit in the darn thing, so had to buy recyclable bags...now I have a smart bin - happy Debs (its the little things LOL)..Sunday morning while I was in the garden feeding the birds, all I could hear was wheelie bin lids opening and shutting up and down the road as people had to sort their rubbish into the bins.....made me chuckle it did! I live in an end of terrace house (looked on the plans for the development, same house came EOT or semi-detatched, this one had the biggest garden, £15,000 cheaper and still only one neighbour!) and have a front garden and drive, the other 3 houses in the terrace are two bedroomed with paved driveways....nowhere to put rubbish out, so uptil now, the street had all dumped their blackbags in front of my hedge - don't mind really, except when the cats & foxes rip open the sacks, throw up what they've eaten and leave a mess in front of and through my garden....we were the only ones using a wheelie bin. Now I won't have that worry - see another little thing to make me happy LOL

Not sure how I swerved onto the refuse collection path there....but I am back now! I mooched around the house, cleaned the microwave (oh god there was probably a new bacteria species in there!) and watched some TV. Midday I decided to go to Tesco's, it was still raining but since I no longer worry what my hair looks like, I enjoy a walk in the rain. Was a quick shop, didn't have much to buy and went more for the walk today. Back home and had some lunch and my phone rang - dosen't happen often. It was my Daddy, asking how I was etc....my Dad is useless on the phone bless him, finds it really hard to keep a conversation going....it usually goes like this "Hello, how are you"...answer "oh thats good, here's your Mum" lol Today he did quite well, telling me about how their little dog Bobby (cross miniature schnauzer & westie) had caught and killed a rabbit.....nice description too Dad thanks (feeling my lunch back in my throat!). Course I go through how crap the last cycle was and then have to repeat everything to my Mum, usually 3/4 of the way through our conversation Dad will call out and ask her something and they will start to argue.....while I am left dangling LOL

Sean comes through the door first as he bikes, closely followed by Jack who walks and Lara is staying behind for netball. Make the boys a hot drink and have a little chat about school, apparently one of the kids had made a facebook group about how much they hate the new headmistress (she is kinda like the evil stepmother) and how the police were in the school taking kids from lessons for questioning. Jack was laughing, thankfully my lot were too smart to join! Tony comes home and I make him a coffee, we sit around chatting and Lara gets home....straight on with the dinner as Tony & Jack are driving to Ilford to train with another karate club tonight. Fresh pasta and four cheese & tomato stromboli bread for them. I have gone right off pasta at the moment, so had a small quiche.

Spent the evening helping Lara with some homework and we watched Flash Forward which Tony and Jack came home, halfway through and started yakking so not sure what happened in it anyway LOL All safely tucked up in bed by 10.30pm. Not a bad day.

Thought for today:
Only as high as I reach can I grow, only as far as I seek can I go, only as deep as I look can I see, only as much as I dream can I be.

Lucy, I didn't want to give it a really bad name in case I pee'd it off lol, a weed is just a flower that grows where it's unwanted hence Buttercup was named.  Got a nice ring to it, and who knows "Living with Buttercup" may become a bestseller after I am pushing up daisies LOL

My wheelie bins sit at the top of our driveway at the side of the house, so don't really bother me but I am glad the grumble made you feel better, we all need to vent occassionally eh, otherwise we'd explode!
