Debs Daily Deliberations 170

2 minute read time.

Friday and straight off I decided I was not going to Tesco's today....just not enough energy to walk there and then carry heavy bags back. Got Jack and Sean off to school, Lara was still home poorly, fed the dogs, cleared the poop and put the rubbish out. Lara came down looking awful and said that her hamster couldn't stand up and looked like its back legs weren't working. Oh no, I give her a cuddle and make an appointment at the vets for 5pm when Tony is home. She cries pretty much on and off all day, I try to tell her that they probably won't operate, she is 2.5 years old and the sleeping gas would be very dangerous but, the vet will know best so we'll have to go with his advice. I tried to hint that we might not bring her home "awake". I was dreading it, I am supersensitive to any kind of death right now and if one of my kids gets upset I just blub right along like a baby.

Lara spent a fair amount of time in my bed with her DS doing brain training and came down for lunch. She had cheese and crackers (had to force her to eat) and I had cheese on toast with worcestershire sauce, tasted great but I paid for it later.....got very nauseaus. We watched some TV together and finally the family was all home. Time to take Biscuit for her appointment, like a chicken I sat in the waiting room while Tony took Lara in, he said she was very brave and kissed and cuddled her hamster before the vet took her outside to give her the "injection" he said it looked like she had a tumour on her spinal chord causing paralysis of the lower body and there was nothing they could do Crying Lara came out in tears and I couldn't fight mine back - what a wuss am I!!!!!!!!

We stopped off at Tesco's on the way home and bought some comfort food - chocolate, crisp snacks and coke to cheer her up but we didn't buy any food.....Jack had asked if we could have a take-out kebab tonight. I wasn't feeling much like cooking so agreed, I had a lovely chicken shish in fresh turkish bread and salad - no chili sauce for me! We all watched some TV and Tony had a few races on Need For Speed, the last one being around London in an Astin Martin DB7....which started badly so he seemed to take great pleasure in just smashing into all the other AM's.......boys!!!!!!!

The whole family were in bed by 10pm on a Friday night - what is that all about - ok the boys probably stayed up watching TV and went on their computers but the rest of us snoring in unison pretty pronto!

Thought for today:
If my doctor told me I had only six minutes to live, I wouldn't brood. I'd type a little faster.

Aww poor biscuit. I hate it when animals die. Ian made a point of telling his oncologist that I cried more when the rabbit died than I did when we were told his cancer had come back!
