Debs Daily Deliberations 165

5 minute read time.

Sunday I woke at 7.19am to the sound of my husband vigorously............snoring!!!! Went to the loo (washed my hands of course) and went back to bed, its the day of rest after all. Next time I woke up, Tony was still snoring but it was 8.34am and the sun was shining. Went downstairs, let the dogs out and unloaded the washing machine which had come on during the night - I love the delay function. Hung out the washing, cleared the poop trail, fed the dogs and switched on my computer. Heard movement upstairs and went and made a cup of tea for me and coffee for him, we sit and sip and chat while he surfs on his laptop on the sofa and I on my desktop next to the sofa.

First I want to share some exciting news with you, that I shared with Tony - its pretty boring for you lot.....but a big step for me. After my brain surgery my head was completely numb from the scar to just behind the crown going back. I spoke to my GP about it, who said it would probably always be numb due to nerve damage when the skin is peeled back (nice vision eh) well I don't know when it happened, but I realised yesterday that I can feel my head again!!! Told you it wouldn't be exciting for you, but combing your hair (what little I have) or brushing and blowdrying felt so strange knowing the implements were touching my head but feeling nothing. Horrible sensation and I am really glad its come back.....I like to keep proving these doctors wrong, becoming an obsession of mine Geeked

Back to Sunday morning and the kids start to surface, bugger....Lara was up and I had forgotten to hide the TV remote, that means only one thing...BREAKFAST WITH THE DISNEY CHANNEL...I feel so old, Sonny With a Chance, Hannah Montanna, Wizards of Waverly Place...I feel myself slipping into a coma!!!!! Tony goes into the kitchen and starts cooking us all a sausage sarnie for breakfast.....doesn't happen often but it makes it all the better when it does. So I am served a sausage & red onion sarnie with a dash of ketchup and a mug of tea - GORGEOUS. We were going to go out for lunch today, just the two of us but Tony asks what about all of us going out for a Roast dinner mid-afternoon instead? OK I stupidly agree!!

I hear the noise of cars whizzing round a track as he watches the Grand Prix while I iron all the school uniform & PE kits for Monday. Gets to just before 4pm and I phone Sean to come home and freshen up and change for dinner. By 4.10pm we are all ready to head off, first they all fight over who is going to sit in the middle, none of them like it (I can see what sort of meal this is going to be!)...get to the Carvery..no parking spaces (bad sign) and we have to park in the station carpark - thankfully its only £1 at weekends. Go in and book our table (it doesn't take reservations here) and are told it will be about an hour - OMG my stomach is already thinking my throat has been cut......OMG that means keeping our three kids from killing and eating each other too! So Tony & Jack head to the bar and Sean, Lara and myself settle ourselves at a table with two spare chairs for when the "boys" bring our drinks.....well 15minutes later they are still waiting to be served and another family has plonked their behinds down at OUR table......sheesh, brave or what LOL

Forty minutes in and the kids start to bicker, its the age old story of two's company and three's a crowd, generally equates to two of the kids ganging up on one......today oldest and youngest decide to pick on middle....and through gritted teeth and an air stewardess smile I am telling them to pack it in and behave whilst throwing Tony a - why didn't we just go out to lunch on our own look!!!! Finally our table was called and we had barely found seats (which they argued over also) and Sean was already queueing for his dinner (roast is his fav) he comes back with a child's plate alright but enough on it to feed an army, very strategic placing of vegetables within the huge yorkshire pud to maximise consumption LOL The rest of us go and queue up while he is already tucking in. I decided to have Beef today, even though I have all but cut out red meat at home, if I am out or if I really fancy it, I have it....no point in denying myself anything these days I reckon. It was delicious, all the time I was eating it I was thinking - no washing up, heaven!!!! Only Sean and Lara had room for dessert, Jack was having to undo his jeans as it was so Tony and I had a coffee while they eat their icecream with a flake and choccy sauce.

Back home and Tony was in his "comfy" joggers within seconds...after all five us fighting over two bathrooms to use the loo - Tony always mocks the fact that my family hate using public toilets (my Mum, my sisters we are all the same) and our kids won't even go to the loo at school, instead they come bursting through the door in the afternoon and in the loo before saying hello!! All feeling more comfortable we crash on the sofa's and to Tony's delight...X Factor is on again today - a weekend double bill LOL He surfs while we watch, but I know he is secretly peeking over the top of his laptop!

Just after 10.30pm I let the dogs out for a wee before bed and am sure I saw something "plop" into the pond. Tony gets his torch as even with the outside lights on, you can't see into the pond.  There sure enough, at the bottom is a frog/toad (still some debate as to what it is exactly) or amphibian would be a more suitable description, laying on the bottom of the pond.  Tony walks round to the shed and checks his bucket....he even does a little happy dance..his frog - THE FROG PRINCE, has decided its time to move into the pond at last.

Apart from the kids bickering - which is a daily occurence in our house anyway - it was a good weekend, we got lots done and managed to have some fun along the way....the sun shone throughout......can't complain. Tomorrow I start my 4th cycle of Temodar.....I can taste it already and believe me I am screwing my face up as I type!

Thought for today:
Red meat is not bad for you. Now blue-green meat, that’s bad for you!

    Hi Debs

It's certainly not boring to hear you got that feeling back - I dont think Holly's is as severe as yours but she has lost quite a bit of feeling from around the area that was cut and surrounding so she'll be pleased to hear that it may come back!

    So, thanks!

Oh sitting in the middle - lol - brings back memories. There were three of us and my brother (middle child) always got to sit in the middle cos he had longer legs, spread wide as men/boys do.  He used to fall asleep on my sister ( youngest) and hated it. lol.  Glad you had a good day and the amphibian is back.

Good luck with this cycle, another one bites the dust!

    Love Carol xx
