Debs Daily Deliberations 161

4 minute read time.

Wednesday the day of bloodletting!!!!! I have been through a seizure, brain surgery, radiotherapy, hairloss and coped fairly well but since being on the Temodal and my veins skipping off to Sibera for an extended vacation, the monthly bloodtest before a chemo cycle has become a thing of dread. I've had a few bad experiences now with bloodtests, something I never worried about being a regular blood donar....but now, I am a baby! I admit it, I don't like them AT ALL. So it was the day, the thought rattled around my goldfish brain all morning.....I didn't even walk to Tesco's.

Tony had gone into work at silly o'clock so he could finish at midday, not only did I have to go see the vampires in Romford (new movie title for any script writers out there) but Jack had an emergency orthodontist appointment in Epping for 2.30pm. They both arrive home at 12.19pm and Jack eats his sushi, cleans his teeth and grabs his iPod Touch and we are off to sunny Romford innit!!!!!!! Not a bad run, we park in the oncology carpark...but as I am having my blood drawn so that I can see my oncologist on Friday I have a good excuse and not in the mood to stress over finding a carspace, am already worked up enough! We walk in and the blood area is looking really busy...I am number 430 and the clock is showing 419, however they move them through PDQ and before I've had time to ready myself......the auto announcer is telling ticket number 430 to booth 2 please. I explain the non-existant veins and tell her to pull the tourniquet tighter or she will never find one.....she thinks she has one and in the needle goes...nadaa....so after much twisting and turning left then right, up and down the blood starts to flow (through gritted teeth) and she gets the required two vials............and relax! I have become allergic to the nasty plastic dressing they use and even micropore..the gentlest dressing adhesive there is. I ask how long I have to leave the huge pad she has applied and thankfully only 30mins.

Head back from Romford to Epping and another pay and display carpark (Tony is muttering words I can't repeat at this stage) and walk to the Specialist Orthodontal Practice, the waiting room is heaving.....nice wall mounted flatscreen tv and we are treated to a very bad episode of Murder She Wrote. Finally after 15mins past his appointment time, Jack gets called in. He has his top brace fitted and his canine has a chain attached, his mouth was overcrowded and it had come through the gums above the other teeth and needs pulling down and back into the space they have created. It has moved so quickly the chain was pulling the brace fitment that was cemented onto his tooth under his gum....ouch. Anyway Mark is very pleased with the way its moved and removed the chain. Jack's gums have been swelling and causing discomfort, apparently his teeth are moving faster than the gums can contract around them....just gotta live with it for a bit longer!

We manage to stop at Tesco's on our way home and still beat Sean & Lara home from school. Easy dinner tonight, tried telling Tony that I wasn't supposed to cook or do any housework for at least a day.....but he doesn't fall for it! So we had Swedish Meatballs and chips, Tesco's have stopped doing the sachets of Swedish Meatball Style Sauce...so I have to make up a jug of vegetable gravy. The boys decide it doesn't taste so much different anyway.

Tony is still sulking because his frog didn't like the pond and buggered off (can't help but laugh myself but then I am an unusually cruel woman).  I came on "What Not Quite Right Yet" and decided to change my profile picture - it was NOT the one I had on What Now, instead it was me in my wig.....and was not dangerously bordering the trades description act as I have become "chipmunked" since the steroids.  Well I couldn't flippin change it, so figure maybe I have to delete the one thats there to upload a new one.....well of course this site let me delete it but would it let me upload a new one - would it heck!!!!!!So I had to pick a green avatar, I like green normally but not as my "AVATAR".....sent a message to admin to ask if I was doing something as I just kept getting "the site is either offline or an error has occured".....they did reply promptly to say they were aware some members were having this difficulty and its been reported as a bug.....no estimated time for said bug to be fixed Crying. This annoys and upsets me so we spend the evening watching TV, Trawlermen on BBC1 and then Journeyman on Sky 3 (recognise the main part as a Owen from Greys Anatomy but he's not ginger anymore but blonde!). Hit the sack around 10pm exhausted over all the worry and stress of the bloodtest........tomorrow I shall be worrying about the results!!!

I know people keep moaning about the site and I for one am glad to have a site rather than none....but this one is slower than Share to load for me literally a minute or so for everything I click on and half the functions dont work.

Thought for the day:
There are two ways to slide easily through life: to believe everything or to doubt everything; both ways save us from thinking.

    Debs 5*

Yuck i hate bloods & needles too, at least i get on with my vampire lady as she used to be a nurse way back last century.

We had a good moan between us about life not being fair, it was funny thinking a month back when i said i was getting old & turning 50 in January, she replied im only a spring chicken & she's got 20 years lead on me, to which i replied as to why she was still working!!

LMAO at Tony's frog, maybe you can dig out one of those plastic electronic movement sensor ones & hide it in the garden, at least this should provide some amusement :)

Whats the old saying "You can lead a frog to water but......", maybe its a horse  :)

Hey Marmalade, it did get a bit windy round here on Tuesday, don't wave so frantically next time ;)  Hope everything went well at the hospitals.

Dave I am thinking of buying a plastic frog and putting in the pond to keep my hubby (who has come home today with "Man Flu") happy....the lengths I go to to keep this marriage alive LOL
