Debs Daily Deliberations 151

2 minute read time.
Wednesday and I do remember to take my anti-biotic today - yaaaaay me! I have been a tornado of a domestic goddess today. Hung some laundry out before getting the kids off to school and more in washing while.......for the first time.....I left Dexter and Ollie alone in the house together and walked to Tesco's. I listened as I went down the street and round the corner - no crying, no barking - good. All in all was out just over an hour and on my return, no crying, no barking - good. Came in and had a good look around, nothing chewed or wee'd or poo'd upon, I think we can safely call it a success! Hung out the laundry and decided to crack on with preparing dinner, two versions of Red Chicken the recipe to which I have added to my dinner dish blog. The children had a plain version, chicken and pancetta in passatta and I added a good dash of Worcestershire sauce as they did not have any of the ingrediants that give it a kick. So with two oven dishes full and ready to heat through later and the house smelling wonderful, I wash up all the cooking utensils and clean the stove top. Bring in the first load of laundry and iron the boys school shirts and PE tops along with all of Lara's t-shirts...now what to do, I remove all the poop from the garden and finally feel justified in sitting down with a cuppa tea and a hovis granary baton with egg mayo for lunch - after washing my hands of course!!! I play a few moves on FB scrabble as I have a couple of games on the go and watch a bit of crappy tv......Lara calls from school and asks if she can stay behind and try out for the netball team.....yes go for it. Sean home and on his laptop within seconds and Jack saunters in not long after and disappears up to his room. Time to get the dinner on the go, pop the ready made Red Chicken into the oven on a low heat and peel some potato's. Cut these up into small cubes and parboil. Turn the oven up a little to roast the mini potato's and for veg we had spring greens and cabbage medley with broccoli.......red chicken and green veg.......OMG I have gone anal over colours LOL This was a new dish, made up as I went round Tesco's and it could go either way........Sean my fussiest child declared "this is really good Mum" ......second success of the day. I think I quite like retirement now. Went out and washed up straight away and heard Lara practising her French.....suddenly she seems to have cracked it....all the alphabet and in time with the fast song.......wohoooooooo we are cooking on gas today folks! Is there nothing we can't do. Spend the evening watching tv and intermittently playing more moves in scrabble. Not a bad day at all. Thought for today: Fervet olla, vivit amicitia: While the pot boils, friendship endures. Latin Proverb
