Debs Daily Deliberations 134

3 minute read time.
Morning newly diagnosed, in treatment, recovering and remission friends (that really has gotta cover all multitude of sins) but not forgetting the very important carers ? are you feeling hot hot hot.........? and I am not talking about the hot flushes type either. I had a fabulous day yesterday and it really recharged my batteries. We left home before 8.30am and took the back roads as the V festival was on at Chelmsford this weekend and it usually causes some chaos on the roads. Got all the way to Weely and stopped at McDonalds for the kids, Tony had porridge, Jack had some bagel with all the usual Maccy D fillings, Sean and Lara had pancakes and I had an Egg and Bacon McMuffin WITHOUT THE NASTY PLASTIC CHEESE! and a coffee which washed my anti-seizure and steroid tablet down quite nicely. Got to my parents bungalow around 9.45am, sat around for half hour saying our hello's and listening to mum ooh and ahhhhh over how tall Jack is getting and how grown up Lara is looking (she only saw them about 3 or 4 months ago - not years lol) and then we all (minus Mum) headed to the beach. Dad provided Sean and Lara with a bucket and spade..Jack at 15 passed on that lol We headed towards the Naze and to the area where dogs are allowed........Ollie must have thought he had died and gone to heaven as he raced around with Dexter and my parents dog Bobby (a cross westie and miniature schnauzer) in and out of the surf and up and down the beach. Lara and Sean immediately started crab hunting and Jack was roped in to lift the heavy rocks for them. Tony had a good chat with my dad and I spent most of the time viewing the world through a lense. We walked to the end of the naze and then took the coastal path back to the cars. The coastline is eroding at a shockingly fast pace and my Dad has taken a keen interest in photographing its decline, his photos have been featured in the local newspapers and are on display in the Martello Tower in the park. Almost back to the cars and the kids and Tony stop for an icecream..me, I just wanted to get a proper cup of tea (made in a teapot as only your parents can do). It was almost 1pm when we got back and although I smothered my arms and face in suncream I caught the sun on my neck and chest........not nasty red lobster but enough you could see the shape of my top when I undressed later. We sat on the patio and Mum made lunch of sarnies and crisps. Dad had hung some baskets on the gazebo as they get really strong winds down there....course, me wearing a hat which obscured my view....hit my head at least 3 times on different baskets - the last time really hurt! We spent the afternoon in the garden watching the abundant wildlife that comes into my parents small garden and with Tony regularly checking on the cricket. Around 6pm we sat down to roast lamb with all the trimmings, the parsnips, runner beans and roasted shallots all came from my Dads vegetable patch. Dinner was delicious, especially as for once I didn't have to cook it or clean up after it. The kids were then given some money - their favourite part LOL and we left just before 8pm after a fab time - topped off by Spurs winning and England getting back the Ashes, owzat for a great day! Got home in time for me watch Rivers and then flop into bed exhausted but happy. Thought for yesterday: Bite off more than you can chew, then chew it. Ella Williams
