Daughter's gift for her Stepfather.

Less than one minute read time.

When my husband was diagnosed, my daughter felt there was nothing she could do to help her stepfather.

They have never been what you would call "huggy", towards each other and had a few crossed words over the years.

I wanted to let everyone know how proud I am of my daughter, who, last night, held a fundraiser for Macmillan. She is only 21 and has organised everything herself.

She held "Rock for Macmillan" in a venue she used to work in while at Uni. The owner let her keep all the entrance money. Eight bands came to play free of charge, some having to travel 150+ miles, paying their own petrol costs too. A raffle and collecting tins on the bar and a free photographer, three burlesque performers and a good local D.J. all gave of their time and energy.

The grand sum of £1557. was raised. Not bad for a freezing cold Monday night.

AMAZING and they say the younger generation dont care... big big hug for your daughters ingenuity and thoughtfulness in organizing the event and raising so much money. Plus bringing Macmillen to the attention of a new generation.
