3 Days to go...

Less than one minute read time.

I've created this blog to follow my progress, side effects .fears, emotions and hopefully full recovery.

Wasn't going to start it 'till Monday but am struggling here before it all starts (self pity - just my luck!) I quit smoking 3 days ago and have a chest infection from hell. Can't breath, chest rattling, coughing (sound like a donkey..lol).

I finish work on Sunday and feeling as I do at the moment am not putting the hours in, not good when I'm S/E.

Today I am supposed to be having my PICC line put in, but not sure now if it will happen...Will find out in 3 hours I suppose..................

    Hi,

Just looked at your profile- I make jewellry, love wildlife, live in SE London and I have bowel cancer. I had no symptoms, just got constipation for a couple of weeks when I came back from birdwatching in Tobago. It didn't go away and then started bleeding so I went to the Drs and had a diagnosis of stge 4 cancer as it had spread to liver and lungs.I know the dread you feel at diagnosis, the fears around the treatment and the outcome. My outcome is fairly certain but I remain positive, I have to. I have had 27 lots of chemo, surgery on liver and bowel- have hated every minute of the treatment but have lived for 2 years now. I will have a scan towards the end of Nov to seee how the chemo is going. Everything is permanently crossed for myself but I will include you in the crossings and I wish you strength to cope in your journey and wish you a sucessful outcome.

    Love Jen XX

Just home after 6 hours of attempting to put in picc line, xrays etc.  No bloomin' veins again. 3rd attempt different nurse, success...yey. (If that didn't work would of had to stayed in hospital for treatment) Second attempt looked like something out of a horror movie, poor nurse was smothered with my blood, it erupted. Not funny really but it took my mind off of the aching in both arms.

So now home for a nap before my last 3 nights of work.

Am slightly miffed as thought would only be off work for a couple of months, but have just been informed more like 4 or 5...Oh well!!! What will be will be...TC all...x.x.x.
