Duvet days mmmm

1 minute read time.

Its been a bit of a quiet week/weekend really. Since having my treatment on Tuesday I have had a funny head, not quite a headache, its hard to describe. I used to get it when I was on Herceptin before so I know its normal but it makes me feel a bit poo.  I was so bored yesterday with the blasted rain just did a bit of housework and made some mince pies. Pastry isnt my strong suit so I only made 8 as I didnt want to waste a load of ingrediants but in the end they came out really well. Will try a bigger batch next time. As things are very tight right now (we are in the overdrafts overdraft :-(  I am going to make some treats to give people as prezzies, things like gingerbread and peppermint creams etc.

Had a little trip to A & E last night. The kids had all been in the boys room jumping off the top bunk onto their bean bags. Well on Georges 2nd go he whacked his head on the ladder on the way down. I felt bad as I blamed my 11 year old for not being responsible enough to come and tell me what they were doing but it wasnt really his fault.  Anyway George kept complaining it was hurting when he moved his head and I dont usually worry too much with these accidents as 9 times out of 10 they are fine but I phoned NHS Direct and they suggested getting him looked at. So we sat up there about 2 hours and they checked him over and said he was ok, just not to jump off the bunkbed anymore! Bless him he was so nervous, he does this thing with his hands when he gets nervous but the Dr was fab with him though and made him laugh and do silly expressions etc.

Drama over we are having a lazy duvet day. I am getting a bit off washing done and will cook a roast but other than that I think we may have a christmas DVD marathon, get us in the spirit!!

Hope everyone else is having a relaxing weekend and you are all feeling well.

Love Chrissixxx

    Hey Chrissi,

I think home-made gifts r a lovely idea, i made some last year and they went down really well! I made some truffles and some shortbread christmas trees. I'm goin to do some baking this year too but haven't decided exactly what yet. I have got loads of recipes, collected from various places and find think home-made gifts show alot of thought and effort has gone into it! If u want to swap any recipes just let me know.

Enjoy ur duvet day! I love them!

    Take care

I love making shortbread.......I have my Nan's shortbread press to make a nice round one with a thistle design.

I might use some of my photos made into gifts this year.  Especially for Mum & Dads.

Arghhhhhhhhh kids and accidents......sounds like they were having great fun Chrissi (I remember doing somersaults and stuff off my bed when I was young LOL).  Glad you didn't get stuck at the hospital for hours.

    Enjoy your duvet day.
