Taking on the NHS

Less than one minute read time.
Would like to hear from anyone who has taken on the NHS over miss-diagnoses and poor treatment while in hospital, seems nobody in the legal profession are interested in taking a case involving the NHS I have been told would stand no chance of winning a case because the hospital would say that the condition of my Wife who was miss-diagnosed for 4months from Oct.2007 could be the same as when she was diagnosed in Feb.2008 how can they possibly say this if they did not examine her corectly for 4 months???

    Hi Julie

Thanks for you comments have been told about legal aid am in the proccess of applying, Like you it took from Oct.08 to Jan.09 to get my Wifes medical records from hospital, I just think someone has to take responsibility for my Wifes miss-diagnoses. I was at a bearevment support group recently and out of 12 people 5 were complaining about the way thier loved ones had been either miss-diagnosed or poorly treated by the NHS which I found shocking as thats just one small group of people.

    Good luck keep fighting.

hello chas i havent been mis diagnosed by my hospital but the hospital refused to give me an hysterectomy early enough they said it was due to my age and they didnt thing that my tumers would spread as aggressively as they did in the end i went to a specialist cancer hospital who found that the original cancer had not only got worse but had spread into my bladder and bowel .they gave me a hysterectomy straight away but unfortunatly it was too late and im now a terminal patient .off the record i have been told that if id have had a hysterectomy when first diagnosed i would be fine now ,i have looked into takin on my local nhs trust over this but i have been met by brick walls from local solicitors so i have resined myself to the fact that this is life and nothin is going to change my prognosis and i havent got the energy to fight .i hope you do have better luck than me and i wish you the very best of luck im so sorry to hear about your loss x

hello mands thanks for your comments, sorry to hear about your situation must have been hard to except especially been told it is terminal which could have been avoided. like you have hit a brick wall when presenting my case for Carol to solicitors they seem to take the side of the nhs trust even when you have doctors who examined her later say it should have been picked up earlier and basic mistakes were made. one solicitor did tell me not to complain to the hospital concerned but to independent bodys as this effects the hospitals points status. i have even contacted the media as i think the hospital or those who examined Carol are responsible for her condition been terninal which possibly could have been avoided. please keep positive in you outlook will be thinking of you good luck and take care of yourself. xx
