Hi Jayne, Thankyou for your reply about Taxotare, this week i have been feeling much better, I had to go to Guys hos today to see Dr Rigg prior to chemo on Friday she has given me 3 lots of mouth wash to help with ulcers and sores round my mouth, she did say that she could reduce the dosage but as she said, I am on a high dose to give maximum effect and could increase the risk of it coming back, as i only have 2 more to go i agreed best to stay as i am. When i had my 1st FEC i suffered alot of tiredness so could be the same and this one could be different also she said as i was under alot of stress and that is now sorted that could have been one of the reasons why it effected me so bad. When you think about it i only have 2 more chemo to go so better to put up with it than put myself at risk by lowering the dosage. Things could be alot worse and i think myself lucky that i found the lump when i did as it was 3cm and i am ok. You are right my hair is beginning to grow back. Thanks againforyour help. Hope everything is good with you. Take care. Carol xx

Hi Carol. I am new to this site and have just had the 3rd course of Taxotare at Guy's Hospital. Top tip from my consultstant is 2 paracetemol & 2 ibuprofen ( if needed morphine based pain killer)to relieve the aching bones for 4-5 days. Brushing your teeth, eating pineapple  & mouthwash helps with the discomfort in my mouth. As for the tiredness I have felt better (bones an all)by riding my bike and swimming couple times a weeek. Its hard when you feel so tired, but its feels great and helps with your sleep. Hopes this helps, wish you well, Wendy Fish mc

hi Fish, i was speaking to you in the chat room last night, it was nice getting to know you. Thanks for your tips ,the doc is giving me mouth wash when i go for chemo tomorrow, but will certainly try the pineapple, the ibuprofen and paracetemol do you take them all at the same time please Seems like im always moaning but for the most of the time im not. I had hichman line fitted after first chemo and its been fine, but last night i noticed it really red and not looking to good, changed the dressing and now today  have lot of muck coming out (sorry if i making you feel ill) looks like ive infection in line so hope they dont have to delay chemo at this late stage, will find out tomorrow. Sorry to be a misery. Take care hugs carol
