LIFES SHORT by t.j my son

2 minute read time.
Life’s short Five foot three with brown eyes and short brown hair, her favourite colour is purple, she loves tea and goes bingo every Monday, her favourite show is c.s.i. crime scene investigation and her favourite books are real life stories. She has two children aged 19 and 14 both boys which she loves very much. I love her for the simple facts of respect she respects me so much, care she cares for me when I’m hurt or in pain, love she loves me even when I misbehave or get in trouble this is the only person that I will love this much in my life. She shouts she swears and she threatens but I still love her for who she is. Playing around outside with some friends, she calls me inside, I go to sit down worried about what I have done, then she starts crying and her best friend starts as well, then she tries saying something, I say “come on what is it then” she says… “I have got cancer”…my heart stopped I felt like a sharp pain went through me, it was as if someone had stabbed me straight through the chest, then it went quiet. Just before she was about to speak, I asked, “is their a chance you will die”, she answered… “yes”… my heart beat got louder, and louder, I felt like crying, but I wanted to stay strong for her, I didn’t want her thinking I couldn’t handle it. She also said after our conversation that she had to go for a major operation, so me and her made a deal she would get through this disease with just a scar and I had to keep the house clean and stop fighting with my brother. So that was the deal we both kept to it as well never thought I would keep the house clean but I did. Great she is getting better I can’t wait for it to just be a memory of a bad incident. My mum, the one who can go through anything and survive. All my mum has to do now is go for chemo therapy then it is all over. It will just be a memory. The End Done By Thomas Johnathan This was written when my son was 14 years old and he is now 16 and we had new diagnosis of secondary cancer he has updated this but i like the original one

Oh Rose, that was so touching. Although I have daughters I do have three younger brothers and I know boys do not show their emotions easily.  You must have such a close bond with your boys that he actually let you read this.  Thank you for sharing it with us.

    Take care
