Thoughts from the frontline - 101

2 minute read time.

Well folks we are half way there! And I'm not talking about treatment for the dreaded C!

Those who read my last blog will remember the story of my stag night but sadly T hasn't been able to find the time to write about her hen night and their stripper....! Come on one of you girls do tell all ;-) How did you really get that groin strain Geraldine? and Kim - where are those pictures? I think we should be told!

So back to the main story. Our wedding was originally planned for August this year but we decided to bring it forward - just in case you know - to this Easter. Being the strange and unique people that we are we decided on a far from normal event. In fact a two part event. The back story is that we have both been married before. In fact we have both been married twice before! So this is third time lucky or to put it another way it will be six marriages between us!!!

So the event has been planned as a two part affair. On the Saturday just gone we went off with some close friends to Oxford Registry Office to do the legal bits. Now both of us thought that this was just a "had to do bit" before our real event next Saturday but I have to say that we had a fab time. The Registrar ladies were great fun and we even found out that they had recently married a bigamist. Not on purpose you know. He was found out later to have lied!

A very informal affair it was too with just the six of us sitting round a large table having fun and doing the legal bits. All kept to a minimum but full of fun and laughter. We all giggled and laughed danced and took photos with big smiles on our faces.

Off then to a local pub/restaurant for some great food for our small party. Table booked for the afternoon so no reason to rush. Three and a half hours later we were drinking coffee having the odd port brandy or whisky to complete the day. Great food and great fun all afternoon.

And then home as a legally married couple. And as a surprise to both myself and T we did feel different. Very strange! I had expected a boring formal day with a meal after for our best friends but it had been a truly fabulous day!

And then we were at home together. Late saturday afternoon after a great day and what better way to finish it? Yep falling asleep on the sofa under a duvet watching a film!! Married bliss LOL.

But as I mentioned before the Registry Office wedding was just a minor part one of our wedding event. This Saturday is the big one. The PARTY of all PARTIES!!

It is where we will have a room full of our family and friends for our special service that will contain what we want. A totally DIY event. With many a special twist which I cannot tell you about yet for dramatic reasons! But we plan to have fun.

To those who read my blog on here and are coming on Saturday get ready for THE event of the year. Dress code is really "what ever you like" and we have heard that one couple are coming in fancy dress as Mr and Mrs Incredible!!!

Now how's that for filling the time between CT scans! LOL

love and hugs to you all

Andrew xxxx
