Omg.....

Just......

OMG.....

I've been a little MIA this past month because all of my energy has been going into being creative. In my last post I mentioned heading to help fit costumes for an opera company. Well, I also ended up making ALL the headgear for the show as well - all 60 pieces. So all energy and time went into coming up with designs and then making the designs a reality. It took a little over 100 hours to do them all, but I have to say - I'm really pleased with how they all came out! They looked absolutely awesome on stage, and I need to see if I can find some photos of them on stage with the costumes. But in the meantime, these are the styles I made - the black and white ones. The opera was Verdi's Masked Ball, and the staging was that half of the cast were chess pieces and half were playing cards. So hopefully you can tell from the hats which were which. lol. After that, I spent all of last week in the theatre backstage, keeping the kids quiet and making sure they had the right costumes on, and fixing any issues there were with the costumes like rips and tears etc. Oh, and at one point sorting out a bullying issue that left one child in the corridor in floods of tears.

So yesterday I spent the day on the sofa, with every part of me feeling like a lead weight that ached, and it looks like today will be spent the same way - other than the washing I've hung up and the sitting room I've cleaned and hoovered. I'm definitely not planning on doing anything else. Tomorrow afternoon I have to go to the hospital, and tomorrow evening I have a Tesco shop being delivered - so I need to clean my kitchen before that arrives so I have somewhere to put it all..... Maybe I won't be spending today doing nothing!

What else have I been up to? Mmmmm. Got my blood results back and they showed I was VERY Vitamin D deficient. So I've been given a massive dose for a few weeks. 40,000 UI each week for 7 weeks in fact. And relating back to my last post..... the first dose caused a massive evacuation of the bowels almost exactly 24 hours after taking it. That was unexpected, and I was very glad I was sitting on a blanket so my sofa was spared!! The second dose, I was ready for it, so I managed to clench those bum cheeks tight and got to the loo with no leakage. The third week I was again ready for it, but it didn't happen. My morning poo was just a little bit looser than normal. And then the one last week there was no noticeable change. My folate levels have also dropped, so I'm on folic acid now too, an 8 week course. Blood count has dropped lower than it has before again as well. Oh, and I'm still bleeding. It's worse now than it has been for a while, but I think this might actually be a period this time - REALLY not sure - as there's clots coming out. But then, it could also be because I was being very active this past week and a half. Whooooooooo knows.

So in others words, I'm a bit of a mess. lol

I've got this week and next to get the house sorted after being neglected for a month, then I have a friend and her three girls visiting for a night, before we all head to London for a week to see a couple of shows and...... AND..... go to the Harry Potter studios! So need to get things straightened up so there's space for them all to sleep, and so the place isn't a health hazard. And also so I can come home to a nice clean house. And I need to bake as well, so we have snacks while we're away and also as a gift for the lady we'll be staying with and then for my friend's Dad when she heads back up north again. Little something to make him smile. Though, I might just buy some marshmallows for him. I know he's eating them, and he's going through chemo just now, so I'd rather send something he'll enjoy than something he's not going to fancy due to feeling ill.

And finally, thank you to Toxo and Para for checking up on me when I vanished for a bit there. Really nice to know people notice when I'm not around. It's really touching. :D

Ta ta for now!

    Glad all is good!!

I met with Toxo a couple of weeks ago and this weekend at a competition. Mentioned about you as was worried as you're normally very vocal on the blogs! Tox said she'd messaged you too and that all was okay.

    Glad you're back!!

You're a very talented lady so it seems!! I tried Notting a hat at school, once. It looked like a colonder! Gave up a bad job thank god!!

Telling you to take it easy and buy cakes and marshmallows from the shops is not worth it as I think you actually enjoy doing all that and it keeps you mobile!!

Speaking of poo!! Yeah, we are on that subject again and no, I've not shat myself again!.......YET!!

Having a colonoscopy tomorrow afternoon. I'm fecking starving hungry and just about to that stuff they've given me to help clear out my bowels!! Wish me luck....I'm going in!!!

    Xxx

  • Lol. If you're about to drink that stuff, sounds like your 'not pooing yourself' streak is about to come to an end!

Though I might buy the marshmallows as they will have preservatives in them. But the cakes, you find me a nice shop bought cake and I'll show you a liar. lol.

    Good luck for tomorrow!

  • Yay! You're back!! What an achievement getting all those hats done!!

Sounds like you're planning on overdoing it again...... but do enjoy the baking. I made a banana loaf to cover my embarrassment at not eating the bananas I'd asked for. First attempt at baking in a gas oven. All got eaten, so it must have been ok lol.

Para - thinking of you hope all goes smoothly tomorrow

    xx

  • Yeh, despite what some may say, I do push myself to do as much as possible. Lol. Sometimes, it's not a good thing - as I discovered on Wednesday just gone.

I slowly moved from walking normally, to walking with a stick/crutch, to not being able to stand or straighten up. So had to spend all day Wednesday sitting and on my top drugs. Did the same for most of Thursday, before heading to the Theatre again on my stick. Until i was walking again without on Sat.

    The joys.

It does make me worry about how I'm going to cope in London for the week though. But I'm trying not to think about it too much right now. Lots to do before then.

  • Always look out for your blogs! It seems to have been a while. I always feel exhausted reading them you seem so busy....doing wonderful things.

Have a great time with your friends and shows. X
