Hi Everyone,
My name is Patrick and I am a carer from for my wife Michelle, who has cervical cancer & Lymphoma.
I've had an idea for raisng money in the form of a calender, which everyone on this site can join in on.
I have emailed my intentions to my local ( Leicestershire ) Macmillan office and they have no problems with me doing it at all.
I've also emailed admin and the press office of " What Now" and at this time I am waiting for permission from them.
I already have a couple of people really interested in helping out, and any others are more tham welcome.
When we get started, we'll need your ideas, stories & photo's.
Please bookmark this blog and I'll update it when I know a little more.

What a good idea Patrick
There was some talk of this on Chat the other night - but no one seemed to know much when I was online
Seems strange making contact via What Now blog rather than e-mail or our own little personal blogs we have set up and shared! You know my views - but just wanted to make them public - I think it is a FAB idea. I'm fully on board, and really excited about hearing other people's ideas about how they would like a calendar to work. I guess you need to wait for the site admin and "powers that be" to get back to you first to give us all the thumbs up, then we can start racing ahead - it isn't that long till Xmas!!! I think I may be the guilty one tweety-pie on chat the other night! I didn't have much info at the time but just thought that this was such a great idea to bring all What Now members together in a positive way and contributed to making a difference so wanted to share it.
I do think it would have to be OUR calendar as opposed to one person's, although someone (Pat think you've been nominated lol) has to take the lead (course I'll help). I guess (using the infamous catchphrase...take each day at a time) we need to get site admin to approve first, then get everyone to blog their ideas and have a democratic vote on the content. Then we can look at the resources required to make it actually happen. Ooooo I'm so excited - this is really giving me something positive to focus on - just what i need!
Manda as it was Patrick's idea he was asked if he wanted to take the lead and he agreed. Others are willing to help in any way they can but I am pleased to see that Patrick has started to get things off the ground. Also glad it is giving you something to focus on x x
Patrick, please keep us updated as to when you need our input. I am happy to help in any way I can but obviously not as a photographic model lol x x
