Is there anyone out there just like me?

Less than one minute read time.
Not sure how this works but .......... I was diagnosed with Non hodkin low grade in October last year, and also CLL. Have had eight sessions of chemo for the Non H and have just been told that I may be in remission from this although the consultant did not have the report of my CT scan, he just looked at the results on the screen. This is good but apparently now the CLL is causing problems such that I need to have a bone marrow transplant. Looking on the internet and reading the booklet that I was given is enough to make you go to bed and not get up for a while but I daresay it's not as bad as all that. So, is there any one out there who has a similar diagnosis of two cancers? Failing that is there someone who has had a bone marrow transplant who could at least give me some first hand info. ps. What is a blog? Take care Pennyv

Sorry to read of your dilema. It is great that you are in remission but on the other hand crap that you find you have a second cancer. I have no experience of this type, but just wanted to let you know we are out here reading your posts and gunning for you 100 per cent. I'm sure someone will contact you with some first hand info, so keep checking. The help line on here are also a very good source of information, so worth giving a call.

I have replied to your blog.  It was after my reply that I realised that you are a family member going through that particular piece of torture.  As for this situation, you can try and get him up and washed.  Take him out  if you need to hire a taxi, do that.  You are a good actress, so pretend calm and try and get some fight back.  Once the effects of this chemo diminish, he will feel a little bit better.

Up thread Penny V said she was looking for a bone marrow transplant.  These have been held up as miracle workers, but even if they are not, it may give him some recovery.  Then you can both make this journey together.

Keep posting, and we will support you.

Oh how the tears are flowing reading your sad sad words. I feel your sadness and understand just what you are going through. You will find that inner strenght that has kept yougoing thus far. It is still there, but, you are only human and even you have to crumble from time to time.

I know that feeling of going in smiling and trying to act as tho it is just another day like everyone else has. Then when you go out of ear and eye shot you crumble. then you pick up your chin and go back all smiley again.  that all takes so much out of you. I do hope you also have someone standing by to pick u up when you need it.

All i can do is send you a big (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUG))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

and promise you that we are all here to support you.

    lol and more hugs,

    HI penny,

Very interested in your blog as i was initially diagnosed with NHL in october then they changed their minds and am now diagnosed with CLL.

Would love to say how it works but am in the dark like you.

The one thing i would love to know is how it progresses,is it sudden or over a period of time?

I am in a bit of a limbo state at the moment.

I am not being treated as yet.It has not progressed enough to warrant treatment.

    Fingers crossed for all .
