    Hi

You don't say exactly where your radio is targeted so this is a generalization

Firstly sorry to be the bearer of bad news but radiotherapy side effects ate cumlative so expect things to get worse and continue after your treatment finishes

What you're experiencing is entirely normal. The radio waves actually pass right through your neck so what's happening on the outside is happening to the mucos lining of your throat and surrounding areas

If you have the option of a PEG take it

    Other tips

Get a good thermometer. If your tempt goes above the recommended go to A & E immediately

Eat as much as you can. Soft mushy foods are the best

    Drink plenty

    Eat ice ans ice cream

    Try high calorie did supplements

Plenty of very strong painkillers . Slow release morphine and Oramorph are very good

Read up.on a condition called mucositis ans be ready for it. It affects 8o% of throat cancer patients

    Good luck
