Just taken the call today regarding Matt's operation date...
He will be in hospital overnight and allowed home following day.
He is having basal cell lesions removed, and two other as yet undefined lesions removed. They will be biopsied to confirm type. These two are the nastier of the two and will both require plastic surgery to repair his face / ear.
Hid donor site is behind the other ear... this will give a good match.... the surgeon I have been told works wonders with his skin grafts and many people have very low levels of scarring after 6-9 months.... initially we have been told it could be quite unsightly and require some TLC.... rubbing things into it to reduce scarring etc will all help...
Seems like we have a date we can plan ahead... time out of work to be there for him, shared between me and his dad [we are divorced and on good terms]
His GCSE's will be in full swing so not sure what we will do there... well there is always something to do.... and we have been assured that his predicted grades were very good and could be used as he is on special consideration....
Feeling ok at present... stuff to get on with
