Radiotherapy - Day 29

Less than one minute read time.

After having felt pretty similar for the last 3 weeks, after my original early dip, last night saw a decline and a pretty awful night. My tongue has felt much larger during the night and the paracetamols seem to really sting and burn my mouth when I take them. They do seem to be a different brand to the others I had previously but I wouldn't have thought that should make a difference.

I've been taking more Oramorph too and do remember them saying I could up it to 7ml and that you couldn't really over dose on it. I might need to get a reminder on this today.

I now also have the Ensure compact drinks with more calories per ml. They  do these in 3 flavours. I am finding I'm quite fed up seeing my husband eat at the moment.

Well I was hoping for a good sleep this morning but the council have chosen today till fit as drop curb over the road ( couldn't possibly have v done it when they were supposed to it v was raining!) Ear plugs it is then!!!!

Dear DLC ... nearly there now ! You have done remarkably well so take heart in that things will slowly improve soon - keep up with the Oramorph and perhaps you could try a Difflam mouth rinse ( you can dilute it to 50 / 50 if it initially burns ) Keep your chin up, sweetheart x

  • I'm using the Difflam before I take the paracetamol which helps to Numb the stinging. Apparently I can take up to 7.5ml of Oramorph, but need to try and keep to a 4 hour gap between doses, 3.5 hours if its nighttime and I'm in pain and can't sleep. I think i'll stick to 5ml during the day and try 7.5ml at about midnight.
