Real time - radiotherapy

Less than one minute read time.

Saw Dr Payne at UCLH yesterday. I told her I'd agreed to go ahead with the radiotherapy and she had me sign the consent form there and then. We talked through the possible side effects once more, loss of erections (permanent), urinary problems (probably temporary), bowel problems ( probably mostly temporary) and the very remote chance that I may need to use a colostomy bag (just like Uncle Charlie who lived to 96!) but that was most unlikely. Anyway, the first radiotherapy appointment is 25 February, the planning meeting and CT scan on 6 March and radiotherapy starting on 24 March. I'll be asking for more detailed risk percentages before that day. Wish me luck. Phil
