My diagnosis

1 minute read time.

Hi I just wanted to write a little on me and my diagnosis.  About3-4 years ago I started having ans ache in my shoulder and arm.  At first I thought it was just that I'd laid wrong in bed.  Then a few months later I startd having deep chest pain on left side.  I went to the doctor as it was keeping me awake on a nightime.  The diagnosis was sports injury.  I was back and forth to the gp surgery for almost 2 years but sometimes put up with the pain as I felt silly...its justs a sports injury it will settle.  then the beginning of 2009 I started some typing courses.  My arm hurt more and I was typing with one hand most of the time.  I visited the gp surgery again and asked for some stronger pain killers.  I saw a different gp this time and he was really concerned and gave me a higher dose of pain relief and sent me for an xray.  I  had an xray and the result was suspicious...possibly a tumour.  I had a ctscan a week later and I was diagnosed with Chrondrosarcoma.  I had major surgery and was told soon after that they were confident they got it all.  I saw my cardiothoracic surgeon about 4 months ago and he was happy with the progress I was making but he wanted me to have a ct scan.  I went home and was poorly.  I then a few days later had a ct scan and a week after that some infection leaking out me scar.  My surgeon was nt happy with what he saw on ctscan so I had to have some biopsies done.  I then was diagnosed with secondary chrondrosarcoma and that the tumour was too big to take out. They are going to try and shrink it so its small enough to take out but so far because of this infection I have been unable to have chemo.  I am hoping to get a date in about a week for it.  Not sure what to think but I am a mom so as long as my family are okay I'll be okay and I am ready to kick ass.  I just wanted to share my story. x
