Bone pain

Less than one minute read time.
Hi everyone, I'm really confused at the moment. I am and have been suffering from severe pain in my ribs, shoulders, upper arms and neck for a while now. I first went to the docs with bone pain but was told it was pulled muscles, found out xmas eve 2008 that it was hodgkins lymphoma. I am now just about to have the second part of cycle 4 poison in the morning, I have it every two weeks and hopefully after this one there will only be four more shots. My consultant is baffled and is sending me for a bone scan and another ct scan next week. I'm serious in how bad the pain is, anybody else out there expereinced anything similar with hodgkins? let me know if you have coz it's got me really scared. thanks

Hi Lottie, I have non-hodgkins lymphoma and had pain in the rib area before diagnosis.  Originally went to doctors in March 2009 and was diagnosed with an injured sternum, they thought I might have done too much at the gym.  The pain at the time was really bad, ibruprofen didn't even touch it but this eased off after about 4 weeks and I was just left with breathing difficulty and slight pain. I was eventually diagnosed with NHL in the mediastinal area and upper left lung in November 2008.  I was on R-CHOP chemotherapy in three week cycles and had rib pain on the left side, usually mid-cycle but it was only really bad for one or two days at a time, I mentioned this to my consultant but he seemed sure it was due to the chemotherapy.  I had 8 cycles in total and haven't noticed pain in this area since completing cycle 7.

Not sure if this is any help but just thought I'd let you know how it was for me just in case.

Good luck with your chemo tomorrow and the bone scan and CT scan.
