  • Have not slept well since chemo in June 08. I wake every couple of hours even when I have taken a sleeping tablet!!!!!

Have retired early so if I am tired during he day I just have a lie down for a couple of hours.

During the night I have been known to cook and then I have a look on the computer.

Would also be interested if anyone has a magic formula.

    Hi Heth,

Sorry to hear your having problems, I feel for you as Ive been there many years ago.

I had a wide excision lumpectomy 9 yrs ago.  I remember it was sheer hell post op. severe pain and swelling , couldnt get comfy in any position to rest/sleep.  Constant pain relief needed, I kept going back to the ward questioning the nurses and requesting to see oncologist.  I ended up with an infection and blood clot.  The wound had to be reopened and drained.

Did you go home with a drain in place?  Have you been clear of infection?  Have you been involved with district nurse visits?

I  hope to chat with you soon
