Just in case my many readers (ha, ha) think I am under the illusion that PDT is a 'cure' for inoperable oesophageal cancer - I do not. The research suggests that it is a useful palliative treatment and it seems to me to be preferable to the alternatives which are very, very few hence my probably unreasonable delight that I have found someone in this country who offers this treatment. I also believe that it can be used in conjunction with other treatment, if they are on offer.
My advice to those other carers and sufferers from this disease, is keep fighting and don't let them write you off.
The old Gaviscon still seems to be helping and the husband is off food shopping for all the relations who are arriving today. He is a wonder. But more cooking, more housework .... The garden is knee-deep in leaves ....Perhaps I can set the relations some useful chores to do ...Team leaf-raking seems a useful task ...A competition perhaps?
