Bigsisters Littlesister - back to work.

2 minute read time.
Hello, Well, I went back to work this afternoon. I decided not to go back to my GP this morning as I had nothing to report to her! At the moment I don't feel I need medication, I'm still thinking about official counselling, and have bought a book on CBT (cognitive behavioural psychotherapy) to see how I get on with that - I'm not against counselling... I'll do it as and when I'm ready for it (feel the same about meds)... so i had the morning off as planned, and went in for about 1pm. On the way I posted littlesis an extra large bag of malteasers (or chocolate grapes) which I found in the local Budgeons, and a card with funny looking penguins on it. Before she started treatment we went to Marwell, and she fell in love with a penguin there called 'Zoom'... she may now be stuck with 'pengiun items' for a while!!... Anyway... So, I went to work. My work friend 'Leonie' was very pleased to see me, and came straight upstairs to see me which was nice. I promptly broke down into snot and tears on her, closely followed by a bit of a laughing fit as she told me about some famous radio/tv presenters she'd met during the week at a club, and is now emailing!!LOL I then had a chat with my boss and told him I was not going to be doing ANYTHING but testing eyes, not dealing with complaints, not helping with training, DEFINATELY NOT MANAGING, not cashing up, not doing the NHS paperwork, and not doing my normal extra shift per month. He was ok with it. I guess he had no choice!! I've also got some extra breaks scheduled into my diary. He then went on a bit about when his mother-in-law was dieing of cancer... and I tuned out (not really what I want to hear about). I then went downstairs to the shop floor, and was told I'd be cashing up wednesday by the assistant manager (who clearly didn't know about my prior chat with my boss!!) I politely told him that I wasn't doing ANYTHING like that at the moment... to which he said 'thats a bit of a pain' and I just said that I was sorry but that was how it was going to be for a while. I guess people will get used to it. Strangely enough work is not really my top priority at the moment! I left work at 5, went to sainsburies and bought chicken, potatoes and salad for a light tea... came home and did some yoga to release my neck from its shackles!! Enough about me... littlesis: She went to school yesterday! She went in just for lunchtime to chat to her friends, which is lovely - I dont want her getting lonely. She's almost finished the harry potter she's reading, and her strawberry plant produced a whopper. On Tuesday she went for her 'MOT' and also another chat to the 'wig lady' they have ordered clip in extensions, and a hair piece for the top bit. I dont think she's all that keen, but they ordered them anyway... we shall see...

Hi big sister - just wanted to say that I didn't really think counselling was for me, I sort of figured that unless you'd been through something similar, all the training in the world wouldn't make you truly empathise. But I thought I'd give it a go. Today (about the 4th time I went) I thought 'I'm not sure I've got anything to say to her', bit of a waste of time - but once I'm in the room with her, I don't stop talking, and it is helping. So you never know, it might do you good. And I think you're a fantastic big sister, I only wish I'd had one like you.

Wishing you and little sis lots of love and good thoughts, Jeanie xx
