The Macmillan Campaigns team are currently working hard on a campaign to demand 24 hour community nursing for all cancer patients with a terminal diagnosis in the final stages of their life.
We know how important it is for everyone to choose where they spend their last days. Whether that's in a hospice or hospital, or at home - it should always be down to the individual, and not decided by available resources in the area.
Macmillan are currently searching for some people to appear in a campaign video we are making to explain the subject in a sensitive and heartfelt way. If you are the mother/father/husband/wife/son/daughter/grandchild or friend of anyone who's had a positive experience based on choice, or a negative one where the right to choose was removed due to a lack of community nursing - we want to hear from you.
If this is relevant to you and you would like to get involved, we are looking for you to share your experiences and have your voice recored for this video. Filming will be in December. Please contact my colleague Andrea Shufflebotham on ashufflebotham@macmillan.org.uk or on 0207 840 4689.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
