is there anyone who had omentom removed. Would you please tell me if you had any complications. I had most of my omentom removed. I sometime feel little uncomfortable
below my ribs ?
Hello Rahman I had my omentum removed during my hysterectomy. I confess to not even knowing I had one until the surgeon listed it on the consent form for my op in 2016. I have occasionally had odd twinges under my ribs on the left hand side in the first few months after surgery. I did mention this to my gynae-oncologist and his registrars but none of them seemed overly concerned. They said very little in fact and so I don’t really know whether the twinges were connected to the removal of the omentum or not. It’s always worth getting any pain checked out though so why not give your clinical nurse specialist a call and chat to her about it. Hopefully she’ll be able to put your mind at rest. Please let us know how you get on x
Hi Fairycake, thank you for your post. I also had the omentum removed on the 2nd April this year, I have pains under my ribs and a soreness that does not go away so it’s good to know it’s a post op problem and not something to worry about.
Hello Posie good to meet you, though I’m sorry for your reasons for being here. I must add that I’m not a medic and I can only speak of my own experience You say you have soreness that doesn’t go away. Have you mentioned this to your CNS or oncologist ? It is early days since your surgery and may well be everything settling down. Its always worth getting any unexplained pain or soreness checked out though - I’m not saying that to worry you in any way at all but just think it’s always wise to get a medical opinion. I hope your recovery is going well. Take care x
Thank you very much responding to me.
75% of my omentom was removed. They were not able to remove all because it was little stuck in one place. I generally feel ok but sometime I have little burning feeling under my rib .
I have no pain. I am suffering with neck and back pain at the moment . It does not seem to go away. I am trying to do some exercises and hope to see physio this week. I am finding it difficult to get an appointment.
I am trying to eat healthy. I really want to change my diet because I am gaining weight at the moment.
I will try to speak to my doctor and the nurse and see what they say.
My hospital is long way from me. My care was moved to a hospital in London . That also creates difficulties for me.
The prayers helped me in my cancer journey. I am trying to be positive and listen to my body. I think I have become super sensitive. I can not recognise myself. I was not like this .
Thank you again. Will keep you inform
loads of love and prayers
