Hi - All through life we are drawn to like minded friends and I'm now I'm here as a new group member!  I was diagnosed with stage one cancer and I'm having my hysterectomy in a couple of weeks.  I'm post menopause and never had an issues - but I'm very glad I went to the Drs early.  Looking forward to hearing your stories and also being supportive to other group members.

  • Update - 13 days after surgery and thriving.  Great medical team, three cheers for robots and grateful that no more treatment requirement as at an early stage.

  • Glad to have helped, hope you are ok? Relaxed️

  • That's amazing news, so pleased for you Blush

  • That is so good to hear well done!

I started my journey in March after bleeding started post menopausal after biopsies ct scan etc found cancer having surgery 16th June so scared. Should have had robotic surgery but couldn't get mysef to top floor of hospital so now going to local hospital hoping recovery will be as good. Had pre op appointment today why so exhausting. Thank you to all posting their journeys as it is a comfort to know we are not alone but sad to know so many of us are having to go through this. Sent with love Heart️

  • Good to hear you have date and sorted where you are having op.

  • Hi Hebe Hebe

Just wanting to send you all my love to you for your forthcoming operation.

Just wondering are you a gardener? I ask the question due to your forum name.  My garden and plants are keeping me sane at the moment!!

Hopefully, I will have robotic surgery when I am eventually eligible to have it due to my raised BMI.  I was diagnosed with Stage 1 EC, last September 24.  Been dieting ever since and lost weight.  Even though on paper my BMI is ok for surgery due to my still "fat belly" the Gynae nurse said I should try and lose more weight. Just been prescribed Provera, which can put on weight, apparently!

Lots of good wishes to you for the 16th. xxx

  • Well done.  Glad to hear everything went well with your surgery for you  xxx

  • Hi - you have to have trust in the medics - this is what they do day in, day out.  The difference between a robot or traditional op - is likely just a matter of weeks.  The most important thing is to get the op out of the way and really focus on your recovery.  I see it like having a baba - the labour is a blink of an eye compared to taking the baby home and parenting! I focus on getting up every day, showered, dressed and some make up.  Read as much as you can and you're reaching out to speak to people - being informed is a large part of not being scared. I am now three weeks post op and your body tells you when you're over doing it - so be kind to yourself x
