Hi Gents is anyone having difficulty getting Testogel at the moment?

Hi Floydy,

The manufacturer has been having production problems for weeks - you might ask you doctor if he can prescribe an alternative that is more available - like Tostran, Testim, or Unicorn Tears.

Thank you Gregm I had this trouble quite a few time with the testogel shortage, are the others similar to use on dosage?

Hi,

Yes pretty similar - Testim comes in a tube like an artists acrylic paint tube. I found it took forever (> 1hr) to dry. Tostran comes in a small pump cylinder like a miniature shaving foam can, one pump per dose.

I'm on Tostran in the pump dispenser. Takes a little longer to dry than Testim but I found the pump much less messy and fiddly. I am on the max of 8 pumps which gave me 15 in the afternoon after dose in the morning which isn't great but docs said ok.

I've also had sustanon and ended up on injections every two weeks which was a real pain in the rear (my back side was sore for 5 days out of 14).  It also gave me more lows and sweats than gel.

Down side with gel is repeat prescriptions and you don't get spare so if the pharmacist messes up the repeat you can be running on empty (happened recently).

I've een on replacement for 3 years but mine wasn't TC, just a bad vasectomy and then epididymectomy that knackered one of my nuts and lead to Testosterone of between 5 and 9.  9 being the maximum first thing in the morning with 5 at lunch.  It took some fighting to get replacement and even disproving pain killers caused it (by taking none for a year despite pain from the surgeries).

Stick to your guns but having less than two fully functioning nuts does result in low T and the other can't always fill the gap, especially after further treatments.

I could feel the difference when my levels got more reasonable.

I have emailed the Supply Chain & Business Intelligence Manager for TestGel as I have very good communications with him.

As soon as I get a reply from him I will post his reply on the forum.

The concern is that when Pharmacist is unable to get a brand (Besin Testogel) they tend to change to another brand and stick with that brand, I have this problem with Asda and they only get in "Testim" now. Due to this I now use Davidsons Chemist.

If you specifically request Testogel what ever Chemist you use should request it, delivery is a different problem though.

I have stock piled 2 months supply of Testogel as I spoke to my GP back in October and he increased prescription so I had more than a months supply each time.

Again I mailed the supplier 5 mins before I replied to this thread, so as soon as I get a reply I will post it on here.

Reply from Testogel Manufacturer; (within 2 hours, bearing in mind I sent at 07.30am)

Dear ................

Thank you for your detailed note and support for our product. I will check on your query in terms of public feedback and let you know.

Our global manufacturing has worked towards a solution and the supply of Testogel will continue to increase. At this time we have the stock of Testogel and pharmacies can contact us directly in case they are unable to get hold of stock from their wholesaler.

I will get back to you on your specific query.

P.S. I am away from the office today travelling but will be back in the office tomorrow. My colleagues at the office are assisting on any calls regarding our products including Testogel as needed.

Many thanks

FURTHER TO THE ABOVE MESSAGE

A further shipment of Testogel arrived on Friday and was issued to Suppliers yesterday

I received a call from my pharmacist today saying there were 5 boxes being held for me, to pick up as and when, that is 150 sachets

If you are awaiting prescription you should contact your chemist.

Good evening Fox 1 sorry I haven’t replied for a while, I spoke to my Pharmist who always gets my prescription she spoke to various distributors, I have just managed to get two Months supply, it had to be couriered down from Edinburgh, I appreciate you help on this matter, the pharmist I have been dealing with know said she has been in discussions since January regarding testogel.

Floydy; Glad your pharmacist took the effort to push for this.

The supply of Testogel is here in the UK, the issue is with the suppliers. This is an issue everyone needs to take up with their own individual pharmacist, even if it means booking a 10 minute "booth" appointment with them to explain what is needed from them, to get the supply stock.

Sometimes you have to take control of the matter yourself, outwith the pharmacist,

A pharmacist only see's you as a number, a person they see for a few minutes when collecting prescription, some do not even realise the importance of this medication daily, each day for life.

If they cannot get testogel, they simply go to the next brand down the line.

Please Be Aware;

If you start using a different brand, you need to start getting your bloods checked all over again to ensure the new brand dosage absorbs same as your previous brand.

 Email from supplier
Hi,
I tried to phone a bit earlier.

Testogel Gel continues to be produced but as you may know we have been experiencing difficulty in the supply in a sachet formulation. The supply issue on sachets is likely to continue for the foreseeable future.

The Testogel Gel Pump formulation was launched early Feb partly to overcome the situation on Sachets. Once the global manufacturing is able to produce surplus amount of Sachets they will re-start supplying UK but in the meantime we are offering the pump pack which is in stock across the wholesaler/pharmacy network. Formal communication is already sent out to the pharmacies across the UK as well as GP practitioners from early February onwards.
Here is information on the Pump Pack which can be obtained from ALL UK pharmacies;
Note;
1 pump of gel (1 depression) gives 1.25grams of gel this provides 20.25mg of testosterone
I used 2 sachets per day of testogel this equals 100mg of Testosterone in 10g of gel (2 sachets).
to get the same amount from pump dispenser  you need 5 pump depressions (5 squirts) this provides 6.25 grams of gel of which you get 101.25mg testosterone.
Besins will supply pump dispensers until their full production is back up and running to supply Global demand. Once supply fully up and running, they will provide the option of Pump dispensers or sachets
They do not plan to stop producing sachets, it is only temporarily and supply will return at a later date.
Hope this helps

This is very interesting information, thanks for sharing. My gp and pharmacy have been totally useless at dealing with the recent shortage. Besins never responded to my enquiry. I had the foresight to build up a surplus so I didn't go without but I'd have been screwed without it.

I was on 2 sachets per day which is 2x 50mg testosterone

using the bottle, it says maximum is 4 squirts = 5 gram of Gel = 81mg testosterone

I would have thought I would need 5 squirts (6.25 grams / 101.25 mg of testosterone) but again recommended maximum is 4 squirts

anyone have comments on this?
