I'm finding it really hard to get life insurance. Only one company are willing to take me on but want well over £400 a month. Was just wondering if anyone has taken out a policy post TC and who it was with etc?
I managed to get some life insurance via a company called ESMI
I had breast cancer in 2015 with chemo treatment from August 2015 through to Christmas Eve, then 12 months of Trastuzumab
hope that helps
Thanks for that info, I'll see what they have to say. Sorry you had to through your illness and hope you are now keeping well.
I'm fine thanks
I still worry about every twinge, cough, ache, pain and bruise but I think that is normal.
Other insurers will insure you but, as you say, with a hefty premium, until you're several years past treatment.
I also took out private healthcare post treatment with AXA, I'm covered for everything immediately and breast cancer after I've had the policy for two years with one year free of investigations. That was on the back of the NICE team refusing to fund Kadcyla, although they have now allowed it.
ESMI will only fund up to £100,000 (or £50,000 for over 56 years, which I don't think is you? how's the baby ???)
It might be possible to cover any shortfall on a mortgage, for example, by using a separate provider?
I'm going to send you a friend request, I'm looking at other cover but am having extensive tests to prove suitability.
