My dear wife has just been diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma after removing a small pea size lump from around her shin.
To say we are devastated is an understatement , now waiting for a CT scan, really feel that my heart has been torn out and feel so helpless but must remain strong for us both. Sorry to waffle on but in a daze at the moment!.
Hi Steve and welcome to the community.
No worries on here about anything people say, we understand. Waiting for scans and the like is so common we often refer to it as scaxiety and it is so easy to imagine the worst when we simply do not know.
My wife's cancer is a bit different, leiomyosarcoma and was only found after it had spread so is incurable - two round of chemotherapy though have rendered it stable and we have been living with cancer now for six years and my wife is in really good health.
I did a living with less stress course that really helped me, the being strong bit just did not work for me but now have a much better appreciation of what we have rather than what might be.
Thanks for the reply Steve appreciated! I used to feel so sorry to hear stories about other loved ones and thinking things like that won't happen to us, how wrong I was. This was never part of our retirement plan. Just got a CT appointment today for next week so fingers and anything else that can be crossed. Good to hear your wife is healthy too !.
So sorry to hear about your wife's diagnosis. Finding out about and illness and waiting for test results is duanting. I also had a spindle cell sarcoma in my left thigh 11 years ago. Had surgery to remove it and have been having regular checkups. It gets easier to cope with scans over time, it will be hard, its still scary and nerve wracking but take it one day at a time.
Lots of hugs and all the best.
Thanks for the reply ISK, appreciated. My daughter has banned me from googling all this stuff too!
