Hi everyone, not been on for a while, been busy with family, can anybody help me with theses hot flushes/night sweats,I am into my stomach injections in my hormone treatment, awaiting radiotherapy,I heard somewhere about sage tablets at Holland and Barrett but not sure,it’s driving me mad (along with the other stuff)I feel like an inferno when they come on ,which is throughout the day and night??
Hiya,
I know I'm a bit late in joining this discussion, but since hot flushes are with you for quite a long time, a late reply should fit in perfectly well. And I'm not going to add words about Sage tablets or anything but I'm interested in them myself although perhaps in my case it's a bit late.
I say that because I'm now some some 6 months post the last injection and my hot flushes just keep on coming. Max in one day is about 10 but more usually I get four or five of varying intensity, so I try to grin and bear them. But the information I've just received means that I have great hopes that my flushes should (I repeat - should) end around next February.
But I reiterate - I'm not here to offer ideas to help you but to put you in the picture a bit more clearly, perhaps.
All I wanted to add was that sadly those of us who had ADT therapy will have hot flushes right through and for months afterwards. But I was given details of an investigation into hot flushes in men and it appears that they stop (on average) about 8 months from a date 3 months after your last injection.
So - if you take January as your last injection then you add 3 months, so you count from April and add another 8 months - on average, as I said. And at that point, they might most likely stop. Fingers crossed that you and I are average. Hmm, would have been easier to just say add 11 months, wouldn't it? LOL
This was the article, by the way:

Sorry if this has been somewhat confusing but I've just tried quickly to put together my recent knowledge.
Best of luck
Chris
