Hi All,

been through extensive imaging and diagnosis since January, resulting in initial diagnosis of Waldenstrom’s Lymphoma & Myeloma from my paraproteins on series of Blood tests for anaemia. My IMg is 10g/ltr and my IMM is 7g/ltr.  My bone Marrow Biopsy results and full Spine MRI I hear tomorrow after Consultant requesting an urgent blood test and face to face tomorrow.  Not sure what all the terminology is on haematology or indeed what light chains are.. but feeling anxious and nervous.. Any words of encouragement what be great right now… xx

  • Good luck tomorrow. We all know the soul shocking feel of diagnosis. Myeloma & Waldestroms lymphoma are such complex multi faceted diseases it will take time for you to know what measurements are most significant for you, but you will be starting that journey tomorrow. Take heart that there are a significant number of treatments so that you are starting a marathon rather than a sprint. Also be aware that you may feel almost 100% well in years to come, somehow when diagnosed (with MM) I'd thought I was on a slippery slope, I'd never feel as well as I do today etc, which just isn't the case. With best wishes, Jane

  • Thank you Jane, for your words of comfort and support must remember the marathon and take each day as it comes to calm my buzzing mind that’s trying to maintain an element of control xx

  • Results now in... I must leave the Myeloma Forum as I have been diagnosed with Waldenstroms stage 4 lymphoma with 50% of my bone marrow biopsy cancer cells. Rare type in males, but even rarer in this 47 year old female... referred today to the only specialist in the country.... wish me well... best join a Waldenstroms group! Best wishes to you all in this forum xx

  • Hi I just noticed your post. I am dropping in past from our General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma group as we don’t have a specific WM group but have had a few folks with WM in the general NHL group.
